Thanks a lot in advance!

The stone does not appear to be very well cut. It is too deep, which makes it face up smaller than a .97 ct round stone should. You want a diameter of 6.3-6.4mm for an almost 1 ct stone, and a depth of no more than 62.3 (60.0-62.0 better). I would also prefer Excellent for cut, polish, and symmetry for a regular round brilliant. Girdle should be thin, medium, or slightly thick. A thick girdle can hide weight and also make a stone face up smaller than it should.

Are you located in the US?

Does this apply to modified round brilliant's like the Leo cut?

Thanks for the reply Diamondseeker. I'm located in France and choosing from http://www.diamants-infos.com which has a good reputation over here. Price included 20% VAT so without taxes it's 3758 EUR = 5200 USD, so it's seems that i'm paying a big premium for the Leo Brand. I will search further for "unbranded" cuts with same characteristics as you mentioned. Rgds

Excellent is always going to be better than very good, and the fact is that the stone faces up smaller than an ideal/excellent cut round. So there would be many better diamonds from which to choose.

Yes, I would not pay a premium for the Leo brand. Most people here would have a much greater desire for an ideal cut round brilliant.

After some research, I find out this unbranded one which is a bit more expensive (4900eur~6700USD) but which seems to play in another category than the previous one...
Thanks for your feedback!
