My mother gave me her very pretty 7 stone anniversary ring last night. And I''m going to get it re-shanked (REALLY REALLY needs it).

And I''m wondering which finger I should size it to?

My ring finger on my left hand is about a 5.75 to 6 depending on width of shank.

My ring finger on the right hand is a about a 7.

So there is quite a marked difference.

Can you all give me your input?

I''ve ALWAYS work my e-ring on my left hand. And with the reset... oh baby, that puppy is never comming off, except for bed ans showers and cleaning.

FMIL''s baguette eternity band is sized for my left hand too. So if I ever want to wear just a plain band, I''ll probably opt for that. (AFTER we''re married though). But on the the baguette eternity is very slim, and very... discreet. 10 pointer baguettes all around. 2.5 mm width on the ring.

This 7 stone ring has more presence and the round stones have FIRE and lots of sparkle and if I wore it alone on my left hand to give my e-ring a break... well, it''s not so discreet and would definitely be noticed!

HOWEVER if I size it for my RH, then I can wear it all the time.

Any advice? what would you do?

TIA folks. Gonna go get resized today. Then send the ring off for repairs. YAY!

I would have it sized as a right hand ring. I think you will get more use out of it that way and it sounds like it can stand on its own.

I''d go for the RHR size.

Okay. That''s what my gut and John are confirming for me too. SO RHR it is. Thanks all, just wanted some feedback to see what you all thought!

Definitely a RHR...you won''t be taking off that new e-ring and you know it

Late again, but I would''ve voted RHR also.

Right hand for sure. By the way my mom had to get her e-ring reshanked (it was her grandmothers and got down to 1 mm and I think might have broken once or twice) anyways it looks perfect now. You would never be able to tell. So don''t worry about your mom''s ring!

Went to a store right next to my house with the loveliest service, who knew! John almost bought me on of these two gorgeous pendants they had there, but I just couldn't let him with all the $$ we've spent on bling this month. It was so lovely that he wanted to though, and that was a gift itself.

I forgot I've lost weight. RHR size is 6.5. Left ring finger is once again confirmed at 5.75 so I can rest easy on that score, cause I've asked Ocean to size it to that. I was measured on that finger just a week ago, but I wanted to confirm just in case jeweler to jeweler there are sizing discrepancies.

Sent ring out to Wink via registered mail. Also included FMIL's baguette eternity so that he can qoute that for me, as I'd like to have the fixed fairly soon too. No camo soap this time. But a TON of duct tape (Thanks Neil for the idea).

Thanks everyone for your votes! I'm glad I'm having it made to fit my RH, it feels right. And I will get more wear out of it. Which will be lovely.

Another vote to have it sized as a RHR but sounds like you''ve already decided that. I can''t wait to see pictures! Wow, so much new bling, lucky girl!

Yeah. I know. I''m suddenly all blinged out. Might still get some pave hoops fro X mas too. Gonna be in trouble next year too, cause of got bezel studs and a diamond pendant or DBY necklace in mind. Not to mention the WF bangle.

You aren''t kidding there! I''m suffering from the same one!

Gypsy, I''m late but I am glad you went with a RHR. I can''t wait to see the pictures.

It is an expensive disease. And I am lucky that many of my jewelry items have been gifts.

Doesn''t mean I wouldn''t welcome more gifts. Now my ring fingers on both hands are covered.

That leaves my ears, wrists and neck are clamoring for diamonds.
