From what I''ve gathered in a search of the archives, anyone in the supply chain have a stone laser inscribed.....so just because it has "H&A" inscribed on the girdle doesn''t necessarily guarantee it as such? That said, is there a pretty good chance that it is a TRUE H&A though? Thanks

Andy

No, the laser inscription doesn't guarantee anything.
H&A is a difficult thing to define and dealers will regularly disagree on what are the acceptable deviations on the patterns. One dealer's H&A may not be the same as anothers. Whiteflash and NiceIce both have pretty good discussion of this topic on their sites. Naturally, they think you should buy theirs, but even if you decide not to shop those dealers you will find a good education about the issues.

The best way to know for sure is to take the H&A diamond to an independant appraiser during you inspection time or return policy to have professionally evaluated. They should be able to confirm for you if you have in fact purchased a true H&A diamond.
