I found a forum on a young man in Sitka Alaska thinking about being a gemologist, and was very excited to see that someone else feels very much the same way I do. I have completed my GIA Diamonds Diploma, and have completed almost all of the GIA Colored Stones program, just need to finsh one class to complete my Graduate Gemologist Diploma. I work in a retail jewelry store (which I love) but am ultimatly interested in lapidary work. Is there any information any one can give me on someone who might be willing to take on an apprentice in Fairbanks Alaska? This would be a dream come true for me

Congratulations on your almost GG status, H. Jodella. Nice work.

Subscribing to Lapidary Journal will start you in the direction of rubbing shoulders with the lapidary crowd. Once you get it and start making phone calls or emails I think you'll find a lapidary in your vicinity.
