compliments from guys?

yes I have. While waiting in line at the grocery store, this man said to me WOW HE MUST REALLY LOVE YOU...YOUR DIAMOND IS HUGE (mind you he was being loud..hence the caps :D ) That was the only man I could think of...oh wait there was another man in my dds school that said my set was beautiful (I was handing him something).

Today in fact! My postmaster was walking by and I had my hair pulled back. Keep in mind, I wear the same earrings every single day..."Girl, those earrings, they shine...they look good!"

Oddly enough, my earring set gets more compliments than any other piece I wear, and its almost always men. I wear three earrings per ear: .10 pink studs on top, .40 rounds, and some small diamond hoops. I have no idea why they get so much attention from guys, but little else does.

I have a pair of very nice sapphire/diamond hoops I got at a store going out of business. Not huggies but only a tad bigger. Never expect anyone to notice them 'cause they're so small but I do get compliments on them. Also my watch w/diamonds around the bezel.

On the other hand, I compliment people's jewelry all the time. When I see a beautiful piece I often ask for a closer look & explain that I'm a jewelry nut. Some folks are pleased but a surprising number seem slightly offended, as if I said something rude. Each to his own though it surprises me.

Actually I have received more compliments from men than women. I just realized this.

Yep. Actually, an older guy in my department comment on my ering just the other day! He said it was beautiful and he joked that his wife would never be allowed to meet me because she would be jealous. lol I've had a few other male co-workers/friends comment about how sparkly it is as well.

I get way more compliments on my jewelry from men! I have no idea why.

Yep! I get tons of compliments on my earrings from dudes. Ironically enough, most of the ones that get attention are fun fakies - I have weird, beautiful vintage-y settings that I pick up in pawn shops that get a lot of attention. And these are from people who were taking the GIA diamond grading course with me, and jewelry classes at the local college!

My e-ring got an odd compliment from my local comic shop guy. After he admired it, he asked the size. When I said a carat and a half, he said, "Huh, I would have guessed 1.25 ...." My main reaction was "?!?" Either he was e-ring shopping and hanging out here, and my ring looks small on my finger, or he got hit by a surge of expertitis and figured, when at a loss for words, neg ....

Yes and what is weird is that more often than not when a man has complimented my jewellery it has been the precursor to then hitting on me. And yes, in some instances, men complimented my wedding set then went on to ask for a date. I must look easy.

Omg, me too! Like if it were small then it meant he didn't love me very much

Yes, but only once that I remember, I was at work and in the cafeteria line and the cashier made the comment someone must really love you, look at the size of that diamond....now it isnt that big lol, must have been the lighting :wink2:

One of my male coworkers always tells me that my "Rock" is blinding him, and he also makes comments like:
"Wow look at that bling, your husband must really love you!"
"That is the best looking CZ I've ever seen (he knows it's real, he just likes to tease me)"
"That thing looks like 3 cts on your skinny fingers"

I know he's tryin to compliment the ring, but it gets annoying because I don't like to draw attention to myself, and he always says it really loud.

Definitely. One man in my last job would check me out regularly and told me I looked "expensive" to which I told him he sounded "cheap"--we had that kind of relationship. One guy recognized a David Yurman necklace I was wearing. Once during lunch another teacher asked me how big my ring was and how much it cost--he was thinking of becoming engaged.

And I frequently have men I don't know comment on my rings in places like the grocery store or the post office. Just last Wed. I was out to lunch with a friend and our waiter commented on a vintage ring I was wearing.

Only male jewelry store employees have raved over my diamonds. All of mine are smaller, but they pack a punch and after a cleaning, the clerks admire them. There was one sales associate who told me my ACA earrings are terrible. . ."milky," to be exact. They're F SI1 with no flo. Sigh!

Yes, I've gotten compliments from several male coworkers about my jewelry. I get compliments on my earrings a lot, perhaps because they are so visible (I have very short hair). The sun smacks me in the face in the morning, and apparantly does some fun things to my little studs.

Yep. Happens more often than you would think, actually. Usually it's on my e-ring.

I have. Usually they comment on the size.

I had a guy chase me down in the commissary one day. He was on the phone talking when and when I went past him he said, "Oh my God!" By the time I got around the corner he was right up on me asking of he could see my ring and telling whoever he was on the phone with about it, lol.

If have a few other random men say things about my rings as well.

Most often from men, rather than women.

yep, had quite few compliments from men about my ring - actually I think I've had more compliments from men than women. Mainly about how sparkly it is.
