I’ve splurged this year and got myself a pair of 2 carat diamond studs. They are set in La Pousette backings and I’m not too familiar. I see 2 notches close to the end of post. How do you wear your La Pousette stud earrings? At the first notch closest to your ear or flush to your ear without a notch? My ears aren’t super close the the notch so there would be alittle bit of space between the backing. I’ve tried looking on YouTube but there isn’t much information on the topic or even a side profile video/pic on the ears. I know this isn’t rocket science, I just want my earrings safe and secure and I’d like to be wearing them correctly. I figure I’d ask the experts here. Thanks for your help!

Push the backs all the way to your ear just as you would a friction back. You want the backs to provide support so that the earrings don’t flop forward. The notches are more of a safety catch so that if your earring does slide forward it catches rather than falling out.

HI:

As posted above. I wear them snug against my ear--as I don't like the droop and like the security they provide.

cheers--Sharon

Cool thanks for the help.

Snug against your ear. Think of the notches like a safety catch.

Two pieces of advice: get extra backs as those suckers like to shoot across the room. Also, don’t get them wet as you can rust out the springs inside.

Thanks for your advice, any suggestions on the type of extra backs?

An extra pair of the same la pousette backs. Unfortunately the posts for these are thicker and regular push backs will not fit. If you want something different you can try Chrysmela catch, they may fit. I have a pair and like them. They are locking backs but different from la pousette.
