Did you yourself use NBC as a source when posting pictures of LA? So it’s fine enough for you to use when you agree with what they say, but suddenly when you disagree it’s a biased unreliable source? Hmm.

Al Jazeera is not NBC. That was the only link I looked at because after that I realized there is no reason to argue with people who think this is a reputable source.

Al Jazeera is a Media Network owned and funded by the Qatari government, specifically the Qatari family… critics often point to the financial and political influence of the Qatari state. The network's chairman, Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani, is a member of the ruling Al Thani family.

Several countries have banned Al Jazeera or closed its bureaus, primarily due to accusations of bias, support for terrorism, and interference in regional affairs. These countries include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, and Jordan.

Instead of dismissing any/ every news story/ source….. how about watching/ listening to a variety of sources and obtaining a more broad sense of “the news”
Al Jazeera and Fox. NPR. CBS. AP.
Also, didn't one of the US networks have to pay almost a billion dollars for purposely lying?
Still- a great practice is to listen to as many as one can, and get a balanced viewpoint.

Qatar.....so their news network is a no, but bribing a US potus, all good?

Sadly there’s plenty of even more ultra biased broadcasting on the web getting millions of views.
People like Andrew Tate are getting into the heads of young men. I haven’t listened to him but my understanding is his message is all about misogyny.

Young men need help. They don’t have a healthy culture at this point, it’s really devoid of influencers aimed at males on how to develop into a productive adult. Young men poll more Conservative than young women; I think they want more structure and spiritual grounding/inspiration which is why some are turning to Orthodox Christianity or Catholicism. I wish the influencing wasn’t from Andrew Tate who yes, is “destructive sexist”. He’s filling a void that used to be filled by strong fathers, male culture and society in general. Young men need so much more than what they are being offered.

You complained about the other links she posted too. You complained about BBC. You even complained about an israeli publication who was anti-bibi. It seems you just disagree with whatever doesn't agree with your views.

This is what I found on google:

Al Jazeera has been banned by some of the most authoritarian regimes in the world: Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE and Bahrain.

So...some countries with some of the strictest censorship in the world. Countries that also murder journalists. Hmm.

Also, it seems pretty crappy to only look at one link and then immediately dismiss her entire post.

Young men have always polled more conservative than young women. In fact young women are rejecting them large in part because of these ideologies. They are misogynistic, toxic to women and harmful to the young men themselves.

They are not turning to orthodox religions because of structure, they perceive it as masculine and that the women in the religion are pliant and will let them "lead" them. It's not unrelated to the red pill/tate type movement.

@telephone89 I ignore biased media sources because they don’t write about facts. They twist the truth into a grotesque lie and yes. If someone repeatedly shares lies and twisted information here I will ignore it. That’s my prerogative as it is yours to ignore my posts

Lol ok. So actual news sources are lies, but social media posts peddled by terrorist groups are totes facts. Noted. Still, the hypocrisy is quite astounding.

Social media included in twisting half truths into whopping lies. And right back at ya

The loudest voices are not the right voices
Just because someone is louder does not mean they are right
Trying to drown out the facts
Will work on the most gullible and those whose narrative it fits
But that doesn’t and never will make it true

So if you don't agree with the court blocking your illegal deportation, just tell them "f you"?

In other news, Kilmar Garcia (illegally deported to el salvador) was ordered released. ICE said they would re-arrest him and detain him until his hearing (while still trying to get him deported).

Not sure if these links are appropriate as they do link to political figures, I edited the headlines but cannot edit the link.

I refer to media bias charts when looking for trustworthy, reputable sources. These charts are recommended by numerous institutions, such as the League of Women Voters, Harvard, Pew Research, and Princeton. They are regularly updated. For example, NPR used to be center, but after the defunding, is now "lean left." It looks like "center" reporting is becoming the domain of finance and entertainment.

I do too but it also requires critical thinking to separate the wheat from the chaff and self reminders to avoid falling prey to confirmation bias. My personal experience with those who often accuse others of being intolerant when they get pushback is that they have a tendency toward confirmation bias.

This is so interesting! I really enjoy the hill, I had no idea they were considered right. Nor did I know TMZ was considered left

Thank you posting the media bias chart @ShinyPink. I read Forbes and Newsweek articles often and wondered where they fell.

Have you looked at Ground News? I've heard that it does the same kind of thing, but by topic/article. I've not checked it out yet.

I'm looking at it now, Very interesting, and I really like their bar graphs with how reporting leans. I think I'll bookmark it.

Thanks for the info.

Thank you for the reminder. I just looked him up again; still no one has heard from him or even knows if he's alive :(

Guest Opinion: Don’t forget about Andry this Pride

They're beating the fathers of Marines, now. It's all over the news.
Army sons feel the need to flank their mother for safety going into a US court.

A masked man tried to kidnap a random person off the street and failed because they didn't put their SUV in park, damaging other cars and then fleeing the scene.

There are many disturbing reports of traffickers taking advantage of masked anonymity to commit their crimes under the radar. They can be bold, now.
After all, there is no way to determine who is behind the mask as they have no verifiable identification. You just need tacti-cool gear and a mask.

Over 200,000 people have been detained so far.
65% have no criminal conviction.
93% have no violent criminal conviction.
Quotas of 3000 a day have been set.

I'm surprised they're not using bulldozers to scrape up and dump all those the hombres malos, mujeres malas, y niños malos, or laser vaporizing 'em from above with drones.

I just can't wait till Great-Again America is all lilly-white and Christian, like the good old days!

People must NOT vary! :angryfire:

It’s so disgusting. It’s obvious that when they couldn’t find enough “criminals“ to round up, they’re going for the low hanging fruit at airport security, places like Home Depot and Lowe’s, etc. It’s unconscionable.

They are purposely avoiding gang areas (y'know, the ones they wanted to actually deport) because it's too "dangerous" for them. So they are literally leaving the criminals and taking the hard working innocents.

Maybe it's because they won't be able to tell their co-workers from the gang members since they will all be in hoodies and mask?

This is not true. No one wants to ethnically cleanse America. Look elsewhere for that: there are plenty of examples, including countries (plural) we sponsor with billions in military and other aid. To rebut your false allegation, my geographic area has a huge variety of multigenerational non-white citizens who are citizens for decades. I have family members who qualify. My understanding is that over the past four years the number of unregistered immigrants coming into our country doubled from the previous decades, where counts were stable. Sanctuary cities like NYC went underwater. The effort now is to send them back.

I keep wondering if people would “get it” if they imagined every American who travels to Europe or Asia this summer intentionally going there to stay, declaring they won’t go home. Imagine that those countries have governments sponsoring those tourists to travel there, then giving them housing, free welcoming schools up to County College level, free health insurance and free economic development assistance, workforce training and connections. Then imagine that actual citizens of those countries were NOT getting those things, or the taxpayer money didn’t go as far. I know this because my kids go to public school where resources for things like speech therapy are considered “excessive ask” (they call it over-referral) boutique choices if your child is a white citizen. I’ve got it on tape, a special Ed teacher at our school saying this! Maybe people would think differently. This is not about race at all although the subsidized immigration and special services here, IS allocated to specific race-based organizations. There are limited resources and much love going to people whose first actions were subsidized to come to America to break our immigration laws.

They red herring us with cries of racism and bigotry. I wonder what this is all about.

“Disruption and disorder” by immigrants is what this country was founded upon. Boston Tea Party, anyone?

Interesting that The Sons Of Liberty who did the Boston Tea Party and many other actions are so admired and hyped. They are considered by historians to be Domestic Terrorists. Their actions often supported criminals, like Tea smugglers in this instance. The American Revolution was preceded by violent rebellions against the rulers, but also actions against individual citizens whom they didn’t like, very much like what’s happening today. I happen to disagree with that tactic, as did many citizens at the time. What we got after the Revolution was miraculously a country based on laws, rights and freedoms that depend on a loyalty to social contract and good citizenship.

I object to inviting in people (eg the person this thread is about) who do not share our values - our rules of social contract and good citizenship. I wonder why foreigners with a foreign agenda are given expedited citizenship. Their actions here promote societal instability because the aim is revolution. Read history.

We’ve got to wonder why people without a shred of interest in being American are allowed here to work on behalf of foreign interests, to be given a platform and pulpit to communicate their ideas and gain followers, then to be celebrated and coddled as they continue “their work”.

How do you determine if they share "your" values? Why are "your" values what matter most? Which part of "your" values does he not share?

He came to the US in 2022, well before the 10/7 attacks which reupped this conflict. You act like he came to the US planning to burn it down. He wanted to marry his partner and study. Bad things happened, and he spoke out about it, and people didn't like that.

Sanctuary cities like NYC went underwater.

Maybe I missed that part???
NYC is as messed up, and or wonderful as it ever was. The changes I see have far more to do with oligarchy.
Ugly Pencil towers with billion dollar apartments that no one lives in.
Huge swaths of town under construction in a way that bodes terribly for small businesses.
Our office is in midtown.
If the city was underwater, we'd see it.
Come to visit!!!
No swimwear needed:)

I believe we should not have mob rule, violence and intimidation to change things. Those are my values.

The actions at Columbia were antisocial at best terrifying at worst. I saw a video of protesters (belonging to the group that Mahmoud led) taking over a classroom full of students, they were dressed in black with keffiyehs over their heads and nothing showing. They told the students to get out of the college class they were attending. The same group held janitors hostage in the library. Yet Mahmoud gets out of jail and goes straight back to this group.

Why do you support anti-social protests so vehemently? I’m curious why we as citizens aren’t allowed to despise mob actions that are intimidating.
