Well, if you have a career based on bad words and an FU attitude, sooner or later it will bite you in the butt. I don''t have a clue why a news channel like CNN would have her representing them on a live broadcast. After her ''Jesus bit'' at the Emmys, wasn''t it obvious that she was a loose cannon with her vocabulary? I wouldn''t have expected her to be anything different; certainly I would not have expected class.

I actually kind of like her; she just needs to stay on HBO or something. After kiddies are in bed.

But why on Gods Green Earth do they give her a platform like the New Years'' Eve *live* show...this woman spews offensive (sorry, that would just be IMHO) offal wherever she goes.

She makes excuses for it by saying that because she''s on the "D" list (hmmm, ever wonder why, Kathy?) that she has to be brasher, louder and more politically incorrect than anyone else.

I''ve never seen Anderson Cooper look so uncomfortable in my life.

When I saw this I didn't know who Kathy Griffin was and I thought of Kathy Gifford, as in Kathy Lee Gifford, who used to be on a show with Regis Philbin. I couldn't imagine her behaving badly. I thought she sang some song for a commercial for a Carnival Cruise Line. Anyway, now I know that there is a Kathy Griffin, although I haven't figured out what dirty things she said from the print version. That's OK. I don't need to know the details.

I actually have no specific ongoing issue with Kathy, but I thought her comments on New Year's Eve were way over the line and offensive, even for the usual "haha offensiveness is funny" shtick that a lot of comedians like her rely on.

I guess this is what I was getting at. She''s like those bully-kids in grade school, who use nasty insults to get at people.

I found her comment "I want Dr Sanjay Gupta for my next pap-smear" extremely offensive. How, exactly, is that funny? She also described CNN''s Glenn Beck as a "heroin addict Mormon."

It''s not the profanity that gets to me. It''s the very personal barbs at people who have no way to defend themselves from her ravings that bothers me the most.

Some of what she says is very funny to me but she does it in such an overbearing way. . .paired up with Anderson as the straight guy just doesn''t do much for me. I''d be willing to bet that if Anderson does the New Year''s Eve thing next year he''ll have another cohort!

I actually think that her show, "My Life on the D List" (or whatever it''s called) was kind of good, and I don''t think she''s too offensive. Sure, I think maybe she could reign it in a bit at times. I didn''t watch CNN''s coverage on NYE but I knew that she was hosting with Anderson Cooper. That did seem like a very odd pairing, at least to me.

I didn''t see the clip, but as soon as I saw on a big screen that Kathy Griffin was live with Anderson Cooper, I just knew that was a poor decision by the network. I personally think that Kathy Griffin can be hysterically funny when she is doing a stand up gig. I love the way she goes after Whitney, Anna Nicole and the others after she had run in''s with them. Even her sarcarsm about the young hollywood type.

But she is NOT intended for a prime time, live broadcast. She is too raw for that type of broadcast.

I have to admit that I am not a fan of Sarah Silverman either. Granted, I haven''t seen a lot of her, but that''s because what I did see of her never made me laugh out loud. I hated the Matt Damon thing too.

I went to a comedy show the other night and the headliner was the worst one of the three. I thought he was going to be really funny, but I thought his material was awful. I wasn''t as offended as I was embarrassed for him.

The second guy reminded me a lot of Ron White, who I love, but he had a bit more cursing than was necessary, but it was still overall, very funny so I bought his DVD. The first guy reminded me of Jamie Foxx and I thought he should of been the headliner.

I just love comedy, but the best comedy there ever was back in the day when Harvey Korman, Tim Conway and Carol Burnett used to try to keep straight faces when they did their show. Gawd they used to crack me up. And just think...they never had to resort to cussing.
