I have started the search for an engagement ring and love the site. Let me state what I know to look for: 1)budget=$5500 for the diamond 2)princess cut 3)looking for around 1 carat 4)white gold for the ring.

I can''t stand the mall B&M stores due to crowds and salespeople with wide smiles. Makes me think they are getting one over on me. Like the internet route because of that. Can anyone point out what to focus on in the 4 c''s and what I should look out for. Also, for the setting, my girls hand is smaller. Some sites say to get a ring with shorter prongs??

Any help on where to start would be appreciated.
