JUST bought my first Loupe

I just purchased my first loupe and some nice tweezers of different styles. I am now going to try and figure out how to examine my coloured gemstones as I don''t own any diamond worth looking at. And there so small I would only see multiple infractions ...if I knew what to look for. Can Gem stone guy or someone give me a first lesson on what to look for in coloured gemstones. Starting with Emeralds and dark sapphires. I figure all stones are different.
