Hello everyone!
I am curious. I recently upgraded my diamond and was just wondering if anything has changed in the way diamonds are cut in the last 10 years? Reason being, my original diamond from 1999, a .946 I VS2 Hearts on Fire Stone, is very beautiful, but my new 1.35 G VS2 uncertified diamond (I know, don''t kill me for this) is just so much more spectacular. It has so much more fire and scintillation, and I get so many more compliments on it! Don''t get me wrong, my Hearts on Fire is pretty, but it just seems to be missing something next to my new beauty. It''s not the size that people notice. To tell you the truth, I don''t even think anyone even noticed I upgraded in size, they just seem to be commenting on how sparkly my new stone is.
I am asking this because I thought I had read somewhere that the cutting had changed in the last 5 years. Of course, I just expect my Hearts on Fire to have the same firey brilliance because of what it is (and it''s unbelievable cost almost 10 years ago). I tried hard not to like my new stone as much (I really analyzed it as you can imagine), but to tell you the truth I love it even more. By the way, my Hearts on Fire is now happy as my new bezel pendant!
Thanks for any input you can give, I truly appreciate it!
