Hi, long time lurker here. Wanted to share my story with all of you since PS has been such a great source of information. (Sorry if its too long!

Story starts out about a year ago. My boyfriend and I started looking at diamonds, I originally loved the Lucida at Tiffanys but we hated the markup. So we started looking around for Princess cut diamonds at retailers, ie BBB (also waay too much of a markup!). My boyfriend actually put a down payment on a .75 princess with the lowest qualifications that BBB would carry. I happened to see the receipt and about threw a fit! LOL I''m a big sucker for cut, color and clarity. He had to return it.

Then, I found PS and started learning about the prices. My boyfriend found a local jeweler whom he liked and put a down payment on a 1.0 ct princess to my specs D-F, VS clarity or better. Still felt it wasn''t "right". Then, I decided I wanted to use my grandmother''s round diamond, an old Mine cut to set in a three stone ring which is what I wanted sentimentally but for some reason I don''t love rounds. Unfortunately my mother wanted to deal with a local jeweler she knew and ''trusted.'' This particular jeweler brought in two stones that matched to the eye but were not graded. My boyfriend spent an extra $300 and 6-8 weeks to get the stones graded. Apparently, when the stones came back they were not to our specifications and by that point my boyfriend had already paid the entire amount to get the setting and the diamonds. We never heard from the jeweler for 2 months after the intial 6-8 weeks that the diamonds were supposed to be graded. When he would call, the particular jeweler was NEVER available and would NEVER return our calls. (This was long distance) Finally, we were tired of waiting and felt scammed. Apparently, the jeweler said he was ''looking for other matching diamonds'' and that ''it was too hard'' to find matching ones. This we would have been fine with but at least keep in contact to let us know of the delay.

Plus him avoiding us, was sketchy.

So, feeling burned and finally getting the money back, the whole engagement plan was on hold...until Hurricane Katrina. We had both just moved to the New Orleans area and now have relocated. But the hurricane made us realize this was what we wanted and so we started looking again. I remembered awhile back the HOF Dream cut and was absolutely in love with it (except the markup!). Then I found the Jubilee cut on here. Wow.

I was just DYING to see it in person and so was my boyfriend. A few phonecalls to Cary Horowitz (what a nice guy!) and he sent two beautiful Jubilees to a local jeweler here who specializes in round H&As. May I just say WOW the jubilee is EVERYTHING that EVERYONE says it is. We viewed a .80 d vs1 and a 1.0x H SI1. Let me just say that I would have NEVER considered a H. But there really was no difference even when I held up the D to the H, the D was ever slightly whiter to my eyes anyway. I couldn''t believe my eyes! Even the jeweler here was very impressed and said he had never seen anything like the jubilee.

We both definitely feel like this is it for us but I do have a question. I''ve seen alot of postings on I-J hearts and arrows diamonds. Many people say that it faces up white and I was wondering if that is true for all I-J hearts and arrows types or does there have to be a certain amount of caution in picking one of those?

THANKS SO MUCH PS!

My wife''s e-ring has an .85 H Jubilee with medium blue flouresence. It looks whiter than a lot of the E or F mall store diamonds that I''ve seen. I''d think an I or J would look great.
