Jewelry Rituals or obsessions.

Are there certain obsessions you have with your jewelry?
Example:I cant put gas in my car wearing my jewelry(not good to get on precious metals or porious stones).The same goes for bleach(same reason)and ink.
I am a freak about keeping jewelry clean and organized,having a box or slot for each indiviidual piece.never put two pieces in the same storage box.
When i get dressed i pick my jewelry for my activities during the day.i always pick jewelry first before clothes.
I keep a traveling jeweley case in my backpack or breifcase,incase i have to remove rings,bracelet or watch to do something that will scratch or damage jewelry.
On a friends or family members birthday or when i see them ,i wear the jewelry they gave me.
When im having a bad day, cleaning jewelry helps me mellow out or think.
Am i twisted or do the forum members do the same things?

Wow, I think I don''t have enough jewellery!

I don''t have enough to put it in all those different places, or wear different "sets" on different days. I do however, love cleaning jewellery. Anyone''s jewellery. If you come to my house, one way or another I''ll get to cleaning your rings.

I always used to clean my MIL''s stuff every time I saw her. So I can totally relate to that.

Yes, cleaning jewellery and loose stones is relaxing. I read an hilarious book set in England in the 1920''s and one very funny character in the book was a ''dandy'' called Georgie who used to religiously polish his "bibelots". So now when I get the cleaning and polishing urge, I announce to the household, in a deeper more manly voice than my usual masculine tone, "I''m polishing my Bibelots!"
