Here is a little about me:

My name is Jacqueline, but am better known as Jax or Jaxie since High School. I am 23 and recently married (August 2003) to a wonderful man that I have known since high school. We moved into our brand new house a few months ago with our two cats. And about 6 weeks ago we adopted a Great Dane puppy. What were we thinking?!?

In all seriousness, we are truely blessed to have such a wonderful home and life at such a young age. I am thankful for what we have every day of my life.

I work as a merchandiser for a well known company. Basically I decide how merchandise will be arranged on shelves, pegboards, etc.. Doesn''t sound very exciting, but it''s actually a very interesting and challenging job and it takes a great deal of patience and creativity.

I didn''t go to school to do this. I graduated from college with a Political Science degree and I fully intended on going to law school. I even took the LSAT and scored well enough to attend quite a few Law Schools that I was interested in. Why didn''t I go then? Long story short, a temporary job that I took as an administrative assistant turned out to be a career track for me.

I love all things artistic and through the years I have studied music (both instrumental and vocal), dance and art. So I think my love for jewelry, diamonds and gemstones stems from my love for all things artistic.

I first found Pricescope after we had had a terrible experience with a mall jewelry store. We began looking online for information about diamonds and eventually stumbled upon Pricescope and Diamond Talk. Pricescope has really grown since I first posted here. It has been an invaluable source of information for us. Also, it had been a great deal of fun to spend time talking with other people about a subject I enjoy: Diamonds & Jewelry!

That is a tid bit of information about me!

Hey Jaxie,

It is nice to see you around more often again...I know you were present when you were looking for your engagement ring and then I didn't see you for a while... I'm glad your back and posting....

As far as dog's go I am still trying to convince the fiance about a dog. She is worried about the hair, but there are plenty of short hair dogs too. I like Weihmareiners and Visla's. Both breeds are full of energy and have very short hair...Nice family dog's too.

It was a pleasure reading about you and hope you 2 are enjoying your new place together...

Hi, Jaxie-

It was good for me, as it was for Josh, to read this. For some reason I confused you with Mellissa (Melissa?) of Connecticut (who also posted on Diamond Talk) and couldn't remember which of you was the nurse. Now I will remember. (This Who's Who section was a great idea.)

We had a photograph of a garden wedding being conducted outside while a Great Dane ate the wedding cake on a table inside. It was taken out of a magazine where it had been an advertisement for something. (Maybe an emergency cake service!) Since our dog is very big, we related to it. I have to say, though, that even Biscuit has been awed by Great Danes he has encountered. They are really much bigger than he is. Even bigger than the Bull Mastiffs we have met, who also gave him his first sense that there are bigger dogs in the world :-).

Would you post a picture of your dog? I am dying to see him!

Thanks for posting this.

Deborah

I keep meaning to tell you I love your avatar. :D

Yup we have a real live Rooby Roo. Actually, his name is Scooby and he is a cutie, but a maniac at times too. So he is attending puppy classes to learn some obedience.

He is the biggest puppy in his class! We love him dearly.

Yup! We met his parents and grandmothers before we bought him from the breeder. They were all in the range of 120 - 150 pounds. So he will be one big doggie. But he is a cutie and a sweetie when he wants to be. Hopefully it's the puppy in him that makes him a little crazy at times. The puppy classes are helping though. He knows sit and down when he wants to listen and we are working on LEAVE IT. A very important command for anyone with a puppy.

Thanks! Great Dane Puppies are odd because they are so HUGE, but they act like a normal puppy most of the time. So it's a little weird because here is this giant puppy running around like a maniac. Makes for a lot more damage done. Hehe, but he is cute. He'd probably share if he was tired enough, otherwise he pushes people off with those big paws. :D

Scoob's gorgeous, Jax.

Danes are such wonderful dogs, they're generally calm, gentle and sweet.

There were neighbours of ours when I was growing up that had a Harlequin named, of all things, Budgie.

Budgie was a super dog, but he was a food-stealer - couldn't leave anything on countertops (or even the top of the fridge) with him around - when he stood up on his hind paws, he was a real giant.

Have lots of fun with him, Jax.

ps - Thanks for posting the pics!! Dogs are my 'eye-candy.'
