James allen setting and diamond

Hi everyone,

I bought this setting and diamond, I wanted something close to the Tiffany Novo and this is what the JA reps recommended. I just want to get a few comments or reviews of people that have bought something similar or a few comments on the diamond itself.

Did you get an idealscope of the diamond? If not, get one now.

It looks really nice. Based on the JA rotating image and the proportions, I doubt there will be any issues that might be revealed in an IdealScope. Still, it doesn't hurt to ask for the image if that's still an option (looks like you've already paid for the diamond).

Hi everyone,

I have to purchase a matching band for the ring now, Time flies!!

The setting is 17040P and there are two matching bands, one with an indent and one without it.

Why get one over the other?

The curved one will let the two rings sit flush against each other. The straight one will have a gap.

I find strait bands much more elegant.

What if she wants to wear it sans engagement ring? That curve would look odd.

Just a thought -- I recently asked James Allen to make one of their half Pave wedding bands into a full eternity band and I love it. They did a great job customizing it and it was reasonably priced -- you might want to check the cost if you get the straight band and the diamonds on the back don't bother you.
