Jade? This does not look like the other Jade bangles I have seen posted. Any help on how to tell?

The bracelet is a dark green hard bangle with 14K and 585 marked on clasp . The gold top is engraved with designs. Any value other than gold? It does not look like the jade pieces I have seen on P S. This is a piece from my late aunt. It is not my style but I am 20210602_212404.jpg going through things this week that I have been putting off. She traveled the world so I do not know what country she bought this in.

It might be nephrite Jade. That’s a dark green colour sometimes with black flecks.
Both Jadeite and Nephrite are referred to as ”Jade” though they are different materials. Nephrite is slightly softer and more opaque and “Matt” whereas Jadeite can be very glassy and translucent.

I stand corrected. I put a flash light on it and it does have black spots in it randomly. 20210602_221808.jpg 20210602_221824.jpg 20210602_221806.jpg

Its really pretty
Now that @voce and @Bron357 mentions it being nephrite it does look very similar to NZ greenstone - (nephrite) pounamu so im used to the dark green colour

Could be nephrite as others have said. Green nephrite isn’t that expensive (a few hundred dollars) and black spots brings down the value quite a bit (plus it’s a hinged bangle) but it looks very wearable imo and I think maybe worth keeping for the sentimental value.

Here is my green nephrite bangle to show the color in the day if it helps. 473E9CC2-85C1-4959-91E5-02F8EBA5ADAC.jpeg

Defo nephrite imho.

I love these old style 14k gold hinges with safety chain. I'm guessing it may be from Asia :) Hong Kong maybe?

Thanks everybody! I had no idea there was more than one type of jade. While I personally do not care for it ,I do appreciate it.
