I see how helpful and knowledgeable you all here are and would love to get your opinion. I do not have all of the stats right now, but will be calling in a few to hopefully get more info. I do have the stone on hold tho but just want to see your opinions.

Do you really want an IF stone? Most can''t tell the difference between an IF or an eye-clean SI1, but if that is your preference, then ok.

Request an ASET image of the stone from JA.
 
I should say that I''m actually going through whiteflash but it''s the exact same diamond and they are going to match the price.
 
The ASET will tell more.
 
Thank you stone cold I appreciate your help. They don''t have it in house (but it''s on hold for us) and can order it so they can inspect it but if we don''t go w/ it there is a charge to send it back and I don''t really want to pay that charge.

I''m kind of a perfectionist and the diamonds I have seen (albeit at b&m stores) all have inclusions that were very visible to my eye... if I got a diamond like that I would make myself sick knowing how visible they are.

It sounds like you saw some crummy diamonds then

TRUST ME, no human being can see *correctly graded* VVS1 or VVS2 inclusions with the naked eye. I think that no human being can see inclusions in VS1 and almost always VS2 as well. If you like *knowing* your diamond is as clean as possible, then more power to you. But don''t get fooled into thinking that you must get IF to have an eye clean stone just based on some diamonds you saw somewhere that may or may not have been top quality. It is also possible that you were not seeing inclusions at all

The faceting in Pricess cuts can make it look like little specs sometimes.

The image of the diamond you are considering is not the most beautiful cut I have seen, but I am not an expert. I like the looks of the second one that Stone cold linked more.
 
I think the G VS1 from GOG is stunning.
 
Is there any diamonds from whiteflash then that anyone could recommend? I''m pretty set on going through them for the setting and since GOG''s settings page hasn''t been up for at least the last week I cannot see what they have to offer and don''t care for custom as we''re planning on upgrading in a few years anyways. :) TIA I really do appreciate all of the help and opinions. I am willing to go with a lower color and clarity as long as it sparkles nicely

Depends on who graded the stones you see in the B&M. Labs other than GIA/AGS are considered softer. Also, a great cut will be able to hide inclusions better than a average cut because of how much more it dazzles. You will need a 10x loupe to see anything in VS1 and then it is still going to be difficult even if you know what to look for.

GOG has tonnes of settings, best to just call and ask. If they have the goods and another endor does not, don''t let a simple gold setting affect your choice!

This one at WF looks pretty good too.. don''t know your budget it is a little more than the first one you posted.
