It''s been slow lately. Who''s next?

I haven''t seen an engagement announcement in a while. Did I miss some, or is it just incredibly slow? Are all the BF''s waiting for the holidays or something?

Anyone care to guess who is next, or does anyone think they may have a proposal story for us soon?

Cali will be next. She practically is, she is just waiting for her bf to give her the ring...thats my guess anyways.....bluerosess should be coming up soon...she is #1....

i don''t want to jinx myself (or anyone else), but i''m really hoping i''m part of the next batch. my bf and i are different from some of the couples on this board in that i''m not involved in the ring search at all (want a surprise and trust his judgement), so it''s all hush hush on my end. which is tricky b/c I could be misreading everything! anyway, i had a convo w/my bf last night basically saying i don''t think i can face the holidays in same position again (come home w/bf for 3rd year in a row). I specifically mentioned thanksgiving (to make sure he wasn''t thinking i meant xmas!!). The convo was really related to other topics but it came up--and he didn''t flinch and just said i have nothing to worry about. NOW, i''ve been here before, and I could be wrong, but if I am, I''ll be on this board posting about moving out! I think alot of ladies will be proposed to by the end of the year, I recall quite a few saying end of the year was a deadline and I''m sure the bf''s are waiting for the right seasonal moment.

I suspect there will be a few at Christmas. I was hoping to be one, but I''m not so sure. I think he wants to wait longer. And I agree that we should. I''m in no REAL hurry to get married, but I would like that promise a little sooner. We haven''t had serious talks. Just a few that involved "when we get married..". But a few days ago, a mutual friend made a comment at dinner that we would be married someday. My BF responded, "Yeah.. maybe.. but we are in no hurry". Which leads me to think it''s NOT going to be Christmas. I think he could tell that bothered me, and he made the comment that if someone asked again he would say, "You know, that just might happen.". I guess I''ll just get comfy on that list and plan to be there for a while.

Well, I don''t really think I''ll be next - not sure who will be... I''ll have to think about that for a bit and then place my "bet"...

I think it''s the pre-holiday lull. There will probably be a flurry of activity around Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine''s Day.

My BF and I mention the M-word regularly but are in a holding pattern. He is being laid off next Spring, so he''s looking for a job. A new job will automatically require him to move, so we have to see when and where he lands before we can make future plans.

Last month he told me that as soon as he gets a job we can go ring shopping, (yay!) but not until then because he doesn''t want to spend a big chunk of change with a layoff on the horizon. I totally support that fiscally conservative decision, so for now I''m content to read bridal **** and look forward to the future.

i sure hope i''m next. thinking it''ll happen within 4 wks. or it better! i hope someone comes off the list soon though to get the good proposal vibes going, can''t believe we''re almost 100 strong on this list.

I think I"ll have you beat on that one... I''ve been on the list FOREVER... don''t hold your breath girls! I''ve always said I''d be on the list for a while! Silly grad school! I''m hoping for next summer and until then I''ll just have to be happy watching the other girls get crossed off and dragging my lovely bf to jewelry stores to indulge me until it is my turn!

Even though I have in my head this picture perfect proposal for this weekend

. We are moving him into the new house that we designed together this weekend. We refer to it as "our" house and have done everything together....from picking the bathrooms hardware to the wall colors. Everything.

So in my head I think "wouldn''t it be great if he did it this weekend!? once we are settled and done moving stuff". I''m actually not moving (I don''t want to move in until we are either married or very very close to being married)....but in my head in the perfect proposal...hehe

I know, I know. Mara, Deco or aljdewey are probably going to jump in here and talk some sense into me for setting myself up for beign dissapointed (since I''ve done this before!)...but a girl can dream

...hehe

A dream is what it is. BF is pretty stressed right now so that''s why I''m 99% sure it won''t happen this weekend!. It is close though!!

I think Cali will be next!

So we are averaging one engagement a week? That is just not enough! Especially with over 100 LIW''s currently. There are a lot of us who are hoping for and/or expecting a proposal by the end of the year. I hope things pick up soon!

BF and I haven''t discussed it since a serious talk on September when he assured me it would be "soon: within the next couple months."

I think NOW would be a good time for a proposal so that we could attend all the holiday functions as FI instead of GF again.

Just wanted to send y'all some good vibes & karma. A proposal for one of our lovely LIW's is just around the corner, I feel it!

Know that I was in your shoes exactly a year ago. I was able to visit WF last September during a business trip. I picked out my stone, narrowed my setting choices to 3 and put the ball in his court. Yep, I knew about my stone, but had no idea which setting he'd pick and when the proposal would take place.

I set myself up for MANY disappointments. We went on a European vacation in late October, and he didn't propose. We went to his parents house back east for Thanksgiving and he didn't propose.

He ended up catching me off guard during a quick weekend trip to San Diego in early December, and we were married on September 30th- 26 days ago.

So, hang in there. You've got a ton of support from the awesome PS community here, so feel free to post away (I certainly did!) I don't peek into this forum often, but here I am today wishing you the best.
