Thanks to everyone who has offered helpful information to me. I really appreciate all of the advice! So I think I am down to deciding between these three diamonds and would be interested in your opinions.

I have two questions. When I look at the AGS certificate the drawing of the diamond where they show the inclusions shows more inclusions on the Blue nile vvs2 than the vs1 from james allen. I am assuming this is because the inclusions are smaller in the vvs2 than the one on the vs1?

Also, on the James Allen website on the 11x magnification I can see "specks" easily. Is this dirt and not the inclusions in the diamond? Otherwise I am wondering why I can see inclusions at 11x mag. on vvs2 and vs1 diamonds.

Thanks again for your help!

What you are seeing is dirt, not inclusions. You wouldn''t be able to spot the inclusions, unless you have eagle eyes, on such poor pictures. Try this GOG tutorial if you want to try and figure out how inclusions may look (these are in lab lighting and extremely blown up):

Out of those all, I''d go with the middle AGS one. The Blue Nile one is facing up small. The others do not have pictures of their light performance, and so would not want to spend the money on an E vvs2 that was dull as glass (obviously a bit of an exaggeration if a GIA/AGS ideal)!

Hi pcaruso...

I know that this is a big purchase, and it''s great that you''ve educated yourself and taken the time to come up with different options, but how many times do you need to be told that the E/VS1 from JA looks amazing!!! Go for it!

Yes, I''d choose #2, the .70 E VS1 for sure! You will not see inclusions in a VS1 stone. I can''t even find the inclusions in my VS1 with a 10x loupe.

I am not sure what you are seeing with the JA magnified pics, I just wanted to add all the pics have these dark areas around the edges of the facets and it might be something to do with the type of photography he uses.
