Well, it doesn't get any better for me.

My new to me Gene Mahenge from Frekechild (6.5mm cushion) set in an 18k wg setting with marquis and rounds. I bought the setting in downtown LA (my fav place to shop). I wasn't looking for a setting like this, but I've bought from this vendor before and the girl there knows my taste better than I do! I'm probably going to have to take it back for a little revamping on the prongs, but otherwise I am in love.

I am so glad the jeweler suggested this setting. It looks absolutely spectacular with the Mahenge. Like it was sitting at the jewelers waiting for the Mahenge! It was meant to be! Gorgeous!!

Sorry to be a total party pooper but I couldn't ignore the warning bells when I saw your marquise diamonds --- Please make sure that you take extra care with this ring as marquise set gems, especially when they are sharing prongs, sometimes are not very secure in this style setting.

I've found out the hard way when I lost two of my marq. tsavorites from my ring and they were set exactly like yours, surrounding a tourmaline. I was sure I didn't knock them or anything, one day they were just gone, probably just fell out. I recently went to a jeweller to check and tighten the prongs on the remaining tsavs and he cracked one of them, ruining it.

Enjoy your ring but do be careful when you wear this ring and check the prongs from time to time by an experienced jeweller.

Thank you everyone and thank you Ciciban for the concern. The great thing about this seller is that they guarantee their stones. I lost 2 stones from a previous setting I had from them, and both times they replaced them for free. But I will be super careful!

Sharon - yeah, it was a stock setting. I got really lucky, I think. It helps that the stone was so perfectly calibrated.

You did well with this precious gemstone....Gene cut a beauty and it went for a wonderful cause...it was the Puppy Mill Auction mahenge and I asked Liz to sell it for me. She needed a good home where she would be set and worn!

I never would've been able to have something like this if not for you and Liz. I'm so grateful and love what it stands for. All of my animals have been rescues and they're the best animals ever (if I do say so myself). In a way, this stone represents all of my wonderful furbabies.
