It’s here!!! I got the shipping notice yesterday, but with everything going on in the world, I half expected a delay.
I’m going to apologize in advance for the pic quality- today is over cast (after a whole week of crazy sunshine of course!), and my fingers are swollen right now (a combination of the heat and some poor dietary choices recently :???:).
It’s a 1.62 F VS1 ideal (within PS specs):

03C5FE08-EA46-40AC-972C-2CF17B7974B8.jpeg 7CA7979F-16B4-4693-8B83-0B36F31F7FB9.jpeg 03C5FE08-EA46-40AC-972C-2CF17B7974B8.jpeg B104ABEC-2DCF-4B21-84F6-DA4D337091E3.jpeg
And an attempt with my ideal scope:
4F13D6C5-0747-463D-ABD0-88788663FFF9.jpeg
Now the mini Yadav review:
The good points-
  • Discount code (I go $50 off) if you chat with a rep
  • Certs for all stones are available online
  • Ability to see what stones are stateside, and which are not (more likely to be virtual inventory)
  • Prices are competitive. Must be a decent margin because if you look up mined diamond, it will actually suggest a lab counter part
  • Let me change my setting after placing my order- I had to pay for the difference and it was only the day after, but the rep was very nice and gave me no grief about changing my mind
  • Got a cad of setting, and the option to tweak it without extra charge. Changes were well executed.
  • Shipping is one day, signature required
  • Packaging was very nice
  • They did include my cert (I hear this has been a big problem with JA lately).
The bad points-
  • Communication after the purchase was poor
  • Requested to see pics of the ring before it shipped, but did not receive
  • Ignored by the rep I was working with for my last two update requests. I was very respectful, and persistent, but did NOT ask for updates before the time frame she said I could follow up with her.

I am really happy with the ring, and for something made stateside, the price was very good. I wish communication would have been better; I know there is a lot going on right now, but I would have much rather have a “Things are delayed so we don’t have an accurate eta right now.” than the silent treatment- which was especially hurtful because I could see in the chat window (through their site) that my message was read! Now that I have the ring, and everything is as promised, I can let go of the road bumps getting it.=)2

Such a pretty ring! It suits you so well:).
Sorry about the sub par communication but luckily it all turned out really well for you in the end.

A few more pics still not ideal conditions for taking photos but I’m getting better with the ideal scope.

There isn’t too much info you need to start looking. the angles should be evaluated the same as a mined diamond, in pictures you should look for “stress marks” caused by the CVD process (I hear they aren’t visible with the naked eye, but it’s not that hard to find a stone without them), be aware that IGI isn’t always as strict on color grading, and the tint tends to be brown vs the usually yellow with a mined.
Prices can vary quite a bit- I did find RareCarat to be a good place to start. I found the vendor through RareCarat but not the diamond. DistinctiveGem also cuts a beautiful lab diamond- I hear he is very picky about his diamonds, so you don’t have to sort through as many diamonds to find a winner (this does come with a slight premium though). Tianyu, who I’ve used for moissanite projects, has a good inventory of lab diamonds, but cut quality is all over the place- you can find a good value if you are not color sensitive, but since they are overseas, returns would be stressful.
hope that is enough to get you started! We have a great community here to help if you need anything else.

my band has 2 mm diamonds. It goes just over half way around the ring, total weight is about half a carat.

Gorgeous ring and thanks for the review! I have been researching lab grown diamonds for a few months now and I am ready to start the serious search to purchase. So, it's definitely helpful to hear from PSers who they have had a good experience with!

ETA: Can I ask what setting this is? It's beautiful!

@MayFlowers Thanks for the compliments!
The setting is The Delsie . I did ask them to soften the angle on the cathedral.

I am happy that you love the diamond and the ring. I know it was a stressful journey for you! Even in the lab diamond market it does not seem to be easy to find a great round. Your SG round certainly won’t be difficult to sell if you are going to retire that one!

It’s funny, it was much more stressful than any moissanite order I’ve ever done but I think it’s because with the moissanites, I could trust my eyes (when I received decent pics ), and they were not big $ projects.
There were just many more details with finding the right diamond. Not only that, but this process showed me I that want things that are mind clean- PS ideal angles, the truly colorless grades, and high clarity- which I did not expect!
I will probably sell my SG solitaire... it’s such a great piece however, two very similar solitaires is unnecessary. I might pu

I agree. The longer you hang out on the boards, the worse it can get. I don’t have any problem with lab diamonds because I have 2 mined diamonds too. Even though a moissanite has a higher RI, they can still look flat to me in daylight even in the best cuts. They are fun to play with but it is hard to pass up a lab diamond if it is in the right parameters and also for a good price. I would sell it and put it towards this. Things seem to be moving quickly. I am sure it will sell the same day. Your ACC would go very quickly too.
