The local wholesaler I visited last night showed me some stones. They carry mostly ideal cuts and work with people all over the world. They do not have the super ideal or ACA classification and this is the only info on their site (see below). I wss able to get the crown and pavillion angles for ONE stone. The woman told be that its a relatively new measurement for GIA, so not all stones have those numbers?

My questions:

1. Is that really the case and if so, should I steer clear of stoens w/o these measurements (crown and pavillion)?

and

2. With that, what do you think of the following:

it's not a new development for GIA; you should be able to get Sarin numbers for stones sent to GIA from 2005.

The reason for the super-ideal niche on the Internet is that the buyer is reassured that he has a great stone without ever seeing it. The reason for you to shop at this wholesaler is that you get to see the stones, and by looking at "very good" cuts, should be able to pick out a good looking stone at a discount to the super-ideal online stones. However, these three stones are not very good deals compared to online prices, and I suggest you snap up this one instead:

http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-283297.htm

Much better deal than those three.

Thanks for your input! If this stone is more sparkly and pretty that the one I saw yesterday, then we are in business. I am staring to lean towards the online purchase...

I will use these stats as well as some other "sweet spot" numbers I found on PS to use as a guide. From what i''ve read, I can also find ideal cuts form WF that are not ACA, but come close and are priced much less!!

Thanks!
