I don''t have the Sarin yet so I don''t know the crown height. Does this look too shallow? Do you think is still has potential?

This diamond will have a fairly large look for its weight because it is not overly deep, BUT it may have brilliancy issues associated with this depth. One cannot tell by the numbers, but I have seen some like this which did have brilliancy problems.

Have YOU personally examined the diamond? Are you having someone you trust examine it and describe it to you? Or, are you just still sort of "shopping"?

I like diamonds that give you the look of their weight and don't look overly small due to too much depth, BUT, I like brilliant diamonds a far more than dead looking ones. So, be careful!

Currently I am just shopping until I make my final decision on which cut stone I want. I found this vendor to be very helpful and "honest" as far as I can tell. The only difficult thing is that the stone is not at his location. In order for him to do a Sarin or Idealscope he will have to oder it. He stated that ordering it costs nothing but returning it costs $40. I am really debating between two stone and I am wondering if I should have him order both and just pay the $40 to return the one I decide I don't want. Right now I am debating between the radiant and the following cushion: Do you think this Cushion "looks" good?

Price: $6,861.00

Depth: 64.8

The look of these two diamonds will be quite different. Maybe you should really go look at some stones to find which shape is "the one" for you. Then you can better compare apples to apples.....

The $40 is minor compared to making a poor, blind selection. You need to see and examine a diamond before committing to it. Round diamonds are the only generic stones that can safely be understood mostly by the numbers. The rest, need eye examination although numbers can weed out poorly cut stones in advance.

Many sellers would at least present pictures of the diamodns available... so you don't have to act blindly when askig to view a stone. Even if you do order these two, than you would have seen just one radiant and one cushion cut. Neither cut model is very "standardized" so quite different looks go under these names - as a bit of shopping around demonsrates. Browsing pictures makes the case too, even if there is stil some distance to be covered between what a picture looks like and the actual diamond. In any case, an immage is better than two numbers to tell what the subject looks like!

Here are two examples of what pictures can do for a radiant and cushion
