So, we are in the process of looking for the perfect diamond. No rush, we really want to do our research, take our time, and talk to more than just a couple diamond sellers. Anyways, we haven''t had a problem up to this point in making appointments to view diamonds. Just to go in and see what diamonds they have, and to meet the jewelers. So far so good.

I called Shapiro Diamonds in Dallas, TX, and asked to make an appointment. He asked what specs we were looking for and I told him. Then he asked me if we were looking anywhere else, and I told him we were. At that point, he told me that his office was a "SELLING OFFICE" and said that I needed to call him after we''d visited all the other places so he could beat their price. Is it just me, or does that seem shady?

Sounds like a pushy sales tactic to me. I''d skip the place.

I wouldn''t take a diamond FOR FREE from a guy who talked to me like that.

He sounds like a jerk. I''d find another jeweller.

Lovelee, sounds as though you are in the Dallas area? I am as well!

Thanks everyone, that''s what my gut told me.

Yes March, I''m in the Dallas area. I''ve been here about five years now, and I love it!

I would make an appointment with WhiteFlash in Houston and have the peace of mind that I''d only be looking at ideal cut diamonds at competitive prices. Of course, there are other vendors as well if you were willing to do it online.
