My boyfriend just bought my engagement ring. I have been lurking around here for weeks and am facsinated by how little I knew about diamonds. Sure- we all of heard of the four c''s but there is so much more.

I think my bf got a good deal on the diamond, it is beautiful (but really, what do I know! LOL)....here are the specs.... did he get a godd deal- or was he swindled? (he knows nothing about

diamonds!)

He paid 4,718 for the diamond- (500 dollars for the platinum setting it is in.)

GIA

Round Brilliant

Carat weight .91
Color E
Clairity SI1
Cut grade Excellent

measurements 6.27-6.32 x 3.84 mm

thanks in advance !!!!

Here''s a comparable, currently available:

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamond.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131&item=868576

This one has VG polish where yours is Ex. So that may impact price slightly.

Without further info such as a Sarin, or Ideal Scope or Aset Images, we can''t really tell you more.

Sounds like tho, for trading with a local B&M, the price paid was potentially fair. Local B&M''s sell far fewer stones than the Internet dealers and have much higher costs to maintain their store fronts.
