The web site calls this a premium cut but the price seemed a little lower than other premium cuts that I had looked at. I was also a little worried about the SI2 clarity grade. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Weight: 1.61 carat
Lab: GIA
Shape: Round
Color: H
Clarity: SI2
Cost: $ 7170
% Depth: 61.6
% Table: 58
Dimensions: 7.48x7.53x4.62 mm
Fluorescence: None
Polish: V.Gd.
Symmetry: V.Gd.
Comments: TN-STK F
Cut: PREMIUM

Since someone will ask eventually, might as well be me...

What's this company's criteria for a "Premium" cut?
Got crown and pavilion angles?

The SI2 may or may not be an issue. The main questions for me would be what kind of inclusions, where are they and is the stone eye clean? Besides seeing the angle information, I'd want to see the inclusion plot and some magnified photos.

I'm not for sure of the crown and pavillion angles. I have e-mailed them and they are going to e-mail me a copy of the GIA cert. When I get the copy I will post them.

Thank you

The GIA report won't give you any important detail about crown and pavilion. I would make sure that the inclusions are not obvious. Can you get a couple of magnified pics?

How would I go about finding the info on the crown and pavillion angles. Is this something the wholesaler should have available for me. Thanks in advance.

From what I understand, you need to get a sarin report...

You'll need a Sarin or OGI to get crown and pavillion angles. At least, if the Vendor emails you the %'s, you can crunch the HCA and get a rough idea of expected performance. The result won't be as accurate, more likely half the actual number score, but you'll get an idea if this will be a good performer or not.

The table and depth %'s you gave hold potential, but this diamond is hiding a bit of weight somewhere. The diameter is more like that of a well cut 1.5 carat. There are eye clean SI2's, but you might want a look at a good copy of the Cert plot and chat with the Vendor about the inclusions.
