Can you tell me if this stone is considered a good stone.
I did look at it through the ideal scope, and did manage
to finally see the hearts and arrows. It was the first time I used one of those.

SHAPE: Round Brilliant

Weight 1.52 carat
Depth 61.0%
Table 56%
Girdle MEDIUM, FACETED
Cutlet NONE
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Clarity VS2
Color: F
Fluorescence: NONE

Sarin:
diam 7.41 mm(7.40 - 7.42)
depth 4.54mm 61.3%
crown 35.2'' 15.8%
pavil 40.7'' 42.7%
table 4.07mm 55%
cutlet 0.8%
girdle 0.7 thin - 1.2 thin 1.0%

Thank you for helping

Carolyn,

I'm no expert, so please don't think I am.

I will look forward to what the true experts here have to say. But here's my initial (humble!) 2 cents...

Did you run it through the HCA? How about the AGA cut grader? Definitely do that!

It looks to me like it could be a winner... the pav angle is excellent! The color and clarity are awesome... the depth looks good... table looks good... I only wonder about the crown angle (perhaps just a tad too steep?) and the diameter (my stone is a 1.53 and it's 7.49 x 7.51 x 4.55) - I'm perplexed why the one you listed is smaller? Maybe that's not significant, though? It certainly doesn't seem to be hiding any extra weight in the girdle or total depth, which is good!

Have you seen the diamond? Remember, that is the BEST TEST!

Yes, I saw the stone.
I was going to get the one with
thin to medium girdle, but
decided on this one since it had
just MEDIUM girdle.
The crown angle fits within the AGS
ideal 0 also, so i decided to get it,
plus it was 400.00 cheaper than the other stone,
this is F color and the other one was E, but
I couldn't see a difference in the color, both looked
very nice.
Thank you for your help.

Light Return Excellent
Fire Excellent
Scintillation Excellent
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good

I ran it through the HCA and it said this above.

So you already bought it?

Just by looking at the numbers the diamond looks like a good one to me. Congrats! It looks like a nice choice....

I'm deciding still, my decision is really based
on knowing that I'm getting a good ideal cut diamond.
I looked at it through the ideal scope, and it looked
good, but still im not qualified to be able to know
forsure. So, I had them show me the SARIN and GIA certificate.
I ran the other stone E color one on the HCA, and it only had
excellent in the first 2 options, not the stintilation, bad spelling.
This stone has excellent in all 3 areas.
Not sure if that really matters however
Im still looking really, and this website helps a lot.

What was its numerical "score" on the HCA?

Did you run it through the AGA cut grader?

How does it perform in various lighting conditions?

It sounds like a beauty, Carolyn. Trust your eyes!

Sounds great to me! I actually really love the shallower pavilion with steeper crown angles. I keep gravitating to those stones when I see them in a lineup.

Way to do your homework and find a beauty!

Here is the HCA:

1.4
Holloway Cut Adviser

Selected: 61.3% depth, 55% table, 35.2° crown angle, 40.7° pavilion angle
The result is for a symmetrical diamond with a medium girdle and very good polish

Factor Grade
Light Return Excellent
Fire Excellent
Scintillation Excellent
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good
Total Visual Performance 1.4 - Excellent
within TIC range

I don't know how to run it through the AGA Cut Grader?
How would I do that?
Thank you.
