Is this a wise purchase or should I keep looking?

Hi everyone. I''ve been a lurker for a while..I''ve been trying to do some research for an e-ring because I''m hoping the engagement is right around the corner (BF and I been together over 5 years now). We''re looking for something around .5ct (I don''t want anything huge and would like total cost under $2500). I found this diamond and figured I should get opinions as I''m pretty inexperienced in diamond purchasing. Price is right around 2k...

Hi Lisa,

It looks great. The only thing worth mentioning is the clarity. It''s a wee bit of overkill, if you''re not wanting it for personal reasons. You could easily go down to VS2 with nary a worry. And honestly, there are many eyeclean SI1''s. But even at VS2, it would save you quite a bit of money.

But otherwise, it looks lovely!

I actually searched down to a VS2, but this one was a little larger than the VS2 stones that came up at around the same cost. Although they were E rather than G in color.

Lisa Marie,

This diamond sounds gorgeous ... The cut falls right within AGS ideal parameters. You definitely have been doing some research. Nice find!

I take it you''re looking online?

It sounds like it''d be gorgeous. Great find! Do you have a setting in mind?

Yes, I'm looking online (sorry I forgot to mention that).

Looks like a great stone-congrats!

I like the white gold 6 prong solitaire setting from James Allen and the Legato Sleek Line from WF. Originally thought I'd like something w/ sidestones, but the more I look at solitaires the more I love their simplicity.

The only concern I have is I don't want the diamond to sit too high in the setting..so I don't know which one would be better or if it's something I can request for them to do?

I think the price came out to $1890 with the PS discount.
