I purchased this stone earlier on in the week. I was press for time and will be leaving the country this weekend to propose to my current gf. Do you guys think this is an OK stone? I know I should have asked before purchasing but I''m really press for time and the price was with in my budget. Also, I figured I have 30 days to return it. TIA

Too steep in the pavilion, will have light leakage. Could have done better, easily.

Welcome!

It is actually what we call a steep deep, both crown and pavilion angles are too steep and deep to work well together and light leakage is the usual result. Can you return it or do you like the diamond? It is also a touch deep for my liking but the angle combo is the main concern. Check it out in different lighting to see if you can see any dark areas on the surface of the diamond or in a ring around the table, this is the leakage if you see it.

I would have passed on this stone, but now that you have it you need to decide if you like it.

I would have picked this one instead: http://www.bluenile.com/round-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-j-color-si1-clarity_LD01147784?__fun_frm=i&filter_id=0#grading_report Yes, it's slightly smaller (yet notice how your stone didn't measure any larger in its diameter) and a clarity grade lower yet a few dollars more, but it has much better angles. It's worth the higher price.

P.S. Use the Cut Adviser under Tools to see what I mean about both of these stones.
