Hi guys, I''m new to this diamond thing. Been reading here for a couple months and researching diamonds on Google as well. From what I''ve read AGS seems to be the best when it comes to grading. And does anyone here recommend against buying a diamond @ bluenile?

I also need some advice on buying a diamond on credit? Is is better to get a personal loan or use a credit card? What would you guys advise?

If you wish to purchase from BN, I would choose an AGS0 princess because BN does not provide enough information on the cut of the stones that they sell.

As to credit, I would only buy diamonds if I can pay cash for it. At most, I'll use a credit card, get a month's break and when the statement comes in, pay it in full. It isn't worth it to buy something you cannot afford. Otherwise, get something a little smaller (but still very pretty and affordable) from a vendor like Whiteflash who gives 100% trade up value when you are ready to upgrade your stone.

If you are getting a loan or plan to accrue interest on your CC, calculate how much more all that interest is going to cost you. It just isn't worth it. Depending on the interest rate and how long a person plans to completely pay it off, you could end up buying another small diamond with the interest payments alone.
