Hi PS!

Our best man from our wedding is looking to ask his lady friend for her hand in marriage. He's asking us for some help. Someone referred him to a local diamond broker, who gave him some quotes on some diamonds.

I was asked if this was a good price for the diamond:

H VS2
1.90
GIA
1.4 on the HCA

table: 56%
depth: 62.6%
crown angle: 35.5 degrees
pavilion: 40.6
culet: none

The quoted price was $16,980
Sorry, no aset/iset photos. I have an idealscope, so we can take a look at the light return if it has potential.

I have attached a copy of the GIA cert; I noticed some clouds and crystals on the plot point; should these be of any concern? I understand that you may not be able to tell until you see the diamond in person. If they are of concern, what should we be looking for when looking at the diamond - from the front and the side?

Note: I think this is more than he wants to spend, but he's using it as a comparison point to other diamonds. As in, is this guy giving deals comparable to those online or not.

Thanks in advance!!!

The ones that I saw that seemed* similar were running $15.6k to 16.6k so the price doesnt seem all that bad for a B&M.

*1.9ish h vs2 depth over 62 and table in range...did not check other angles because they were not available.

Thanks, Tyty and Stone-cold!

you know we would love an update with a picture!
