I am in the process of buying an engagement ring, I have already picked the ring but am still looking for the stone. The jeweler I''ve been talking to has a 1.13ct, I color, si1 clarity, HeartStar squared cut (http://heartstardiamonds.com/) for $6800, Is this a good price if certified etc. or am I just paying for the brand name? Thanks in advance.

Also I am new to this forum and currently at work (my only internet access for awhile) so I haven''t been able to do a lot of searching. Do I need more info for a judgement to be made? The stone looks awesome in person and on the scope.

Ask for an ASET image, a scope that shows the optical performance of the stone, they should know what it is since the stone is graded by AGS.

The heartsar scope is what is commonly known as the Heart & Arrow scope. It is a judge of optical symm not optical performance.

Price wise looks on par with other ideally cut AGS stone, but that is just a rough gauge as there is no other stone with about the same specs.

Price is perhaps a few hundred higher than a well respected PS vendor with great upgrade and tradein policies.

See an example

Something to consider as an alternative although you might like to view your stones in person and choose the one you like best.
SI1 you better check if its eye clean to your standards under different lighting.

Pricing is often higher with branded diamonds from brick and mortar stores so it depends on your priorities whether you go for a branded or non branded stone. If you do seriously consider this diamond for purchase, make sure it is eyeclean by asking if you can view the diamond away from the store lights if possible, inclusions can jump out in some lights more than others.

Has anyone even heard of this branded cut? I haven''t found it elsewhere on the forum, the stone I saw had clipped corners while the one on the site I provided does not.
