Dear all,

I chance upon a diamond and I am hesitating to puchase it as I have been buying too much lately. Please advice if i should go ahead n plunge.

Carat: 1.5 Gia cert
color: L (strong blue fluroscence)
clarity: si1
cut: vg
sym:ex
table: 56%
depth: 62.4%
crown angle: 36.5
pavillon angle: 40.4

I decided to make it into a pendant. I didn't expect to come across this diamond. I wanted to get a pendant. It will be plunge as I will be using my savings to buy. I have made several purchases in this year. Should I go for it? Please advice. Thank you.

Looks promising for a pendant stone. Anyway to get an idealscope image of the stone?

Thanks,

However i would like to know if this diamond is a good deal. For this Price $3926, is such a cut hard to come by? Plus its an L with strong blue, making it face up like a h-j color stone.

I am wondering if i should plunge and buy it or wait around for a while to space my purchase. I worry if i wait for a while, there will not be such a deal for a 1.5ct.

Looks like a good deal but i am really contemplating as i bought too many items these frew months.
In Aug i bought a pair of diamond studs,
In Sept i bought 2 eternity rings, I
n Oct i bought a earring jacket.

I have been toying with the idea of a solitaire pendant but didnt know the chance came so soon. It wil be the biggest purchase. The B&M store did not want me to wait and say it will be sold soon. But i do feel the pinch to spend. :? Advices?

An L w/ strong fluor isn't going to be leaving a B&M anytime soon unless they have a particularly non-mainstream and/or diamond-savvy clientele - I'm guessing it was just talk, to move it ;))

In my opinion, regardless of how good of a deal this diamond seems to be, the fact remains that you will pay for it with your precious savings. You said that you've already spent a lot during the last months and that the amount of money that you'll have to pay for it is very considerable to you. You should really think long and hard whether you'll be happy with the L color. I have seen L and M diamonds with strong fluor IRL and believe me, they are L's and M's and they show what they are. So if you're not absolutely satisfied with this and if you're not a fan of warmer stones, i wouldn't advise you to buy this diamond. Plus, i don't know where you're buying from, but if it is a B&M store, i'm worried that they might not even give you the right to an upgrade, so if you change your mind later, you're stuck with it and there's nothing you can do... Be careful.

I appreciate many of your comments.

I will be happy with an L color as i do not mind the color and clarity for a pendant. I initially wanted to get something like (L/M color SI clarity GIA 1-1.5ct diamond pendent) that but much much later like next year as to space out my purchases. I was at the store and the sales person showed me a good deal from under the display cupboard. I am pretty sure that it will be sold as they have stores everywhere and the item is easily transferred to other outlets to other sales person who have clients looking of such items at such a size with a price like that.

this B&M store sells cheap (below market price) GIA stones with such specs, but most of the time, the proportions do not come out good, most of them get HCA score of 3 and above. I am shock that this particular one scored 1.6!!!

my personal struggle is purchasing it with my savings as it is not a small amount (to me) but i am afraid when time comes for me to be ready to buy, i would have missed the deal especially when the cut is good. just worried if i will miss the boat...
