Is this a good Christmas gift for (fairly) new parents?

Our friends have a 9-month-old and we're thinking of giving them this for Christmas but we're not sure if this is cool or silly...so parents, what do you think?

Well...I would say that it depends on the kind of people they are. If they have a huge baby book, the mom wears mother''s necklaces, and she loves to scrapbook then it''s perfect.

If they are more minimalist and don''t tend to document every step of their child''s life, it might be a bit hokey...

I think it''s cute for some people, but I probably wouldn''t desire one...

While I wouldn''t put it on a wish list, I think it would be sweet to receive. Even if they aren''t "parenty", it would still be a lovely keepsake.

i think its nice and thoughtful. and something that they probably wouldn''t get for themeselves, which is always nice.

It''s kinda cool. It''s nice to document the cute tiny fingers and feet. They could hang it in the nursery. I like it better (with the press-in clay) than I do the full-blown 3D cast-style ones. I think you should get it.

I think I''ll get it because even though it could have some "hokey" aspects I think this particular couple will like it...

I am not a new mom, but it has not been that long (my three are 4, 6 & , but I think that it is a very nice idea! I am not a "hokey" mom by any stretch of the means, but they do grow up way too fast and I think this is a nice momento.

Thanks DD...we were going to order it yesterday but ended up being exhausted from Xmas shopping...so maybe today. I''ll let you guys know how it looks in real life, we''re getting it shipped here first.
