A debate among friends.... many say all men will think a diamond ring is an e-ring.... regardless of what it looks like and what hand it is worn. Really? No?

My question is what type of white diamond ring looks LEAST like an e-ring and most like a RHR?

Do not want to include colored stones or bands... just styles/cuts/settings with white diamond center stones. Ideas? Pics?

I remember when I was single, men used to think any diamond ring I wore whether on my right or left hand looked like an engagement ring. Even a ruby I used to wear on my left hand looked to them like an engagement ring. Also, I could have sworn an engagement ring used to attract them even more!! So I say that you should buy whatever you like, maybe staying away from solitaire diamond rings.

So true. trying to find different versions of styles like this...

I''ve never seen that ring....gorgeous

I think that solitaires definitely look like an e-ring so I would probably steer clear of them if you''re looking for something different. That ring you posted is gorgeous. I have a RHR that my parents gave me with teeny diamonds scattered across the band and no one has ever confused it with an e-ring.

In some cultures, the wedding set is worn on the right hand. I wear a diamond band on my right hand's ring finger and a few guys asked me if I'm engaged/married. However, if I wear a diamond band on my middle finger no one asks if I'm married. I'd say stick with wearing your diamond rings on the middle finger to avoid confusing potential suitors

If you want a large center stone, this design looks least like an ering to me

How about a right hand ring?
Something this at Whiteflash.

Maybe something like an eternity band?

That ring you posted is beautiful, and so unique! I think that any bypass style like you posted would look less like an e-ring. Being a female, I would not think that a diamond worn on the right hand would be an e-ring, but that is just my opinion. I agree that maybe you might want to consider wearing it on your middle finger if you are at all worried about it looking like an e-ring.

Most of the single people I know do wear some sort of diamond bands... or rings with really little diamonds...as RHR. This works... but the question is what to "UPGRADE" to if you do not want the e-ring look.

I agree solitaires are out... and I love 3 stone look... but most of those are out as well. That pic I posted is from Daniel K and with TWO center stones... seems like the best solution. That leon is nice, too!

Now that the RHR things has been in vogue for some time... many venders, including WF, have designated RHR designs. however to me most of them seem like entry level and not upgrades, ya know? Smaller stones and not very traditional settings... things that will be worn for short time and then out of style. You can always keep getting bigger diamonds to some type of band concept... but really looking for a setting concept with a nice size stone (+1 ct).

I am a guy and I always look for a ring on the left hand ring finger. If it is there, that''s my signal to move in...

however, I have never thought twice about a girl wearing a ring on her middle finger. My mom has a nice diamond ring she wears on her middle finger and she isn''t married. To me it has always been that if their is no ring on the left ring finger, she either forgot to wear it

, or she is single.

If there is a ring there (left ring finger), I assume she is engaged or married. I know some girls that don''t have a wedding band paired with their e ring, so they are married-but still they just wear their e-ring without a band.

I'm curious, why are 3 stone rings are out?

Also, there are antique style rings with large center stones and lots of interesting details such as millgrain, engraving and filigree. Those might be more unusual looking for someone who is not into jewelry and thus not be perceived as an ering.

i love 3 stone rings... but it just seems that most of the guys I asked thought they were e-rings if all white diamonds and not colored stones. There is a new 3 stone ring thread over in SMTR and I think all the diamond ones look very e-ring.

I agree 100% with some vintage type settings, even when solitaire, might not look as e-ring. I have been looking at lots of settings with OEC stones... but for me personally I also tend to wear contemporary looking jewelery as well so did not want to be locked into only antique look.

I have diamond bands/ stackables, etc that I wear on my middle finger and no one questions these. On my hands I have not found a good large center stone type setting that looks normal on my middle finger... left or right hand.
