Okay getting ready to take the plunge on a ring. Picked out hearts and arrows stones for sides and center. Really excited to give to my wife for our anniversary. When I was picking out engagement rings I walked away from the experience feeling like I got screwed honestly. This time with the help of this site I feel much better about the entire thing. This is my last question before I buy. I have read favorable things about them but wanted to make sure before I took bought later today. Also is bank wiring safe? I know when I purchase something with a credit card it is safe, but I honestly have never purchased anything via bank wire. Is it similar? I save a little if I go that route. Thanks in advance...

JA is trusted vendor. I have not bought from them before though but did wire-transfer to other vendors. Wire-transfer is safe only with trusted vendors as there is no way of getting your money back if the vendor runs off.

Yes, JA is very reputable. I purchased my e-ring and my pendant from them and they were fantastic. I also wired funds once to them without any problems and hundreds of people here on ps have also done this.

Why are you feeling screwed? If you have an issue with them, they are more than helpful if you contact them by phone and ask for help.

Not screwed this time.... That was when i bought my engagement ring from a B&M store years ago. I actually feel pretty good about this purchase, just leery of the wire transfer.

Hi, we just wire transferred the money for our JA engagement ring. No problems that I know of and I love my ring. Are you doing it for the discount? I''d check with your bank to see if there are any fees for that. There was a $10 fee for ours (none on JA''s end). I think that our JA rep said that it was pretty much worth it for anything over 2000. Any little bit helps, right? It was really quick and easy for my fiance from the sound of it. I can ask him if you have any specific concerns.

You could always put some on a CC (you will lost a bit off the 1.5% wire discount) so that you have some "safety" if you would like. Also, the bank will obviously give you a confirmation that the money was transfered to their bank account. I feel a wire xfer has a paper trail unlike cash and JA is not going anywhere as they have been around for many years.

JA have a solid rep here and I have seen many happy customers and successful transactions with them over my years here, you can pay by bank wire with confidence.

If they’re a new vendor for you and you are uncomfortable with it, use a credit card and pay off the card company before they interest kicks in. As mentioned above, the difference is the 1.5% ‘discount’ vs. the bankwire fee. That’s probably paying a few dollars for the comfort you get from the CC company being involved but for a lot of people this confidence is money well spent. You might even get some frequent flyer miles out of the deal.
