Is it possible to get a quality ring with a budget of $1500? My boyfriend and I are on a tight budget, but I really don''t want a huge rock with low color or clarity.
Is it possible to get the ring listed below? What things would you change to insure that I get a quality ring

oval or cushion
.70
G or H color
SI1 or SI2 clarity (also, how different are SI1 and SI2...am I sacrificing a lot if I choose SI2?)

For an oval or cushion, I'd stick with Si1. Si2 in fancy cuts do tend to be more obvious.

A quick search brings up stones at 0.7-ish carats of G SI1 for $1.7K, H SI2 for about $1.5K

If you want the stone to appear larger, ovals are the way to go. Many cushions tend to be deeper stones, so that they face up smaller for their carat weight.

it is possible. you will have to do some searching to really find the balance that you want but it is possible.

it depends on the cut of the diamond (well cut, sparkly diamonds hide inclusions better) and what the inclusions are. the lab that graded the diamond is also important.

find a great vendor that will look for the best diamond available within your budget and you will be fine.

Thanks! I think I will go with oval too! I think 1.7K is very reasonable and we could probably do that especially since I want a simple setting.
