Why? Why can''t we open a slit of an eye in the morning, lick our finger, stick it up in the air, and decide ''yeah'' or ''nay'' on pulling the covers off our faces? Why? Why can''t we take the occasional mental health day without fear of reprisal? Don''t we all deserve the once-in-awhile break from the monotony of everyday BS?

Can you tell this is a particularly worthless - - well, actually - - craptastic Monday?

Personally, my life is fine. It''s the job, and the commute, and the weather, and my headache, and my employee''s cluster *forks*, and the growing piles of paper that (I swear to you) procreate at night to create more piles. (A clean desk does not indicate productivity and time management skills; it is the mark of someone who does nothing while still receiving a paycheck. Would that I could find that gig.)

Dear Lord, what I wouldn''t give to win the power ball lottery. Please. I''m on my knees. I promise I''ll tithe 10% of my winnings. I''ll give to charity. I just need enough to buy back my sanity. Thank you, Lord.

Holly - sorry to hear you''re having a bad day. Hope that tomorrow is a better one for you.

Yeah... I certainly could have used a personal day today! What a terrible day it has been!

Thanks!

A week doesn''t usually go from bad to worse, does it?

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I know how you feel...sometimes living life is just a bit too much. Hope you find some way to decompress and regroup soon.

Haha, I have a feeling a lot of us can relate. I feel like most Mondays (or heck, most days) I wake up and think it would be so great to take a personal day. Then I think about the hell I would face tomorrow if I took a personal day today.

I''ve always promised myself that if I ever own a small company, I will grant the very occasional "free pass" day. Everybody would come into work thinking it was a normal day, I would call a meeting and just tell them to go home. I''m the kind of person who usually plans something for every day we have off, so having a surpise day with no plans would be fun.

I tried to mentally prepare myself for no personal days when I became a mom, but it''s a struggle to get out of bed some days. When I''m knee deep in laundry and my daughter is whining, I just think "Wow, a beach would be nice right about now" (I do live on the beach but it''s in Massachusetts, so it''s useless in February).

I''m still holding out for that winning lottery ticket.

Holly, I like your idea. I could seriously use a mental health day, and today wasn''t even that bad!

I hear ya...Tomorrow HAS to be a better day!

Ick. Sorry you''re having such a miserable day

Well, on the bright side, as Valerie says... tomorrow has to be better, right?

Yikes... maybe I need to keep my paper piles on top of my desk instead of in my drawers from now on...

Seriously though, I hope your week gets better, I swear Mondays are evil!
