Good Old Gold is on Long Island NY, which was hit hard by hurricane Sandy.
Their website has this announcement:

**Due to hurricane "Sandy" we are currently closed and are operating on a email basis only. At this time we do not know when we will be able to resume operations. If you have any questions please fee free to contact us. .**

Hope everyone's okay.
Does anyone have any update about them?

I saw that on FB that they were open on Saturday for pick ups, deliveries, and gold buying. The newest update: Some great news. While we await power back to the store and lab we will be able to conduct (almost) normal Internet operations next week and FedEx is in full swing here so we'll resume shipping/receiving then as well. We'll keep you posted with more updates as we learn of them.

Yes ... about 90% of Long Island was knocked out with no power and tons of devastation. Many homes and personal property lost. Fortunately our homes and store are north enough from the south shore that we did not suffer loss or damage. Most of my family does have power back with the exception of me (who hasn't shaved now for over a week).

LIPA (Long Island Power Association) are working furiously to get everyone back up and we expect to be fully up by the end of next week (Lord willing sooner!). In the meantime however FedEx is back up and we are shipping/receiving again and my staff is able to answer emails again as we all have locations where we can access the web. Once we have power back to the store we'll be right back to normal. In the meantime though we're almost there.
