Thats the only cake we like !

I love a good cheesecake

, I am just thinking of the logistics of using it in a tiered cake and icing it I don''t think it would be strong enough. I would think it is best to speak to a baker or possibly just make the top layer cheesecake for you and FH

I don''t have a correct answer for your question, but it sounds yummy!!

For our cake I think we are having a Layer of Chocolate cake filled with Chocolate mousse, layer of Cheesecake, and a layer yellow cake with Strawberries within each slice. It is sooo good and I figure if people are picky they will like at least one of the flavors... His sister had the same flavors and her cake looked beautiful, she had at least four layers, but one of the designs that have pillars in between, but I am not sure if they were there for structural or aesthetic reasons.

No cheesecake is ever a bad idea.

i am hungry for cheesecake now!

LOL That just made me laugh...

I think its fine, if that's what you guys like. Although two things I want to point out, JUST for you to consider: 1.) not everyone likes cheesecake, in fact, I know many people who don't. maybe you could mix up the tiers or something (Im not really sure what can be done because Im not planning a wedding right now. 2.) I'm not sure how it would hold up since it can get really soft.

BTW: I love cheesecake

I wanted cheesecake as one of the mayers of my cake, but the baker said NO. I suppose it depends on what type of cake you are having (size, shape, placement of tiers), but apparently cheesecake is not very strong, and doesn''t have the right moisture levels to take fondant. All this according to the baker.

I think if you guys want cheesecake you should certainly have it! But as others have said it won''t hold up as a tiered cake. But you could get a number of them and make a really nice display anyway!

I think if it is what you want, then it''s not a bad idea!

how about just the top tier that you cut into??? that way you can eat the cheesecake and everyone else can have regular cake...just a thought.

Well we are doing 3 tiers but 2 of them will be dummies because we are have a small affair with about 30 guest. Can one tier have 2 flavors ? can that be done ? is that crazy ? lol

i want cheesecake now too!!! boy if you had my moms cheesecake it would stand up! it''s so thick and creamy at the same time, it could probably hold up a semi truck lol

i just left work and got a piece of chocolate cheesecake.. THANKS ALOT!! diet ruined!

Not sure if you would consider this or not, but FI and I are doing just cheesecake for our wedding. We know it won''t be as pretty and exciting ... and we know some people may not like it. But that''s what we like, so that''s what we''re serving, because if we had a regular wedding cake we wouldn''t even eat it. We''re even going to do a few different flavors so people can choose, or maybe get a small sampling of each. Get what you like! You can always have a sheet cake of "regular" cake for those who don''t like cheesecake. Or maybe some other dessert options.

I had marscapone cheesecake for two of the layers of my cake for my first wedding. We had to have supports to seperate the layers becuase cheesecake is too heavy and it can''t support the weight of the layers on top. The supports were inside each layer, so you didn''t see them like pillars, but they kept the weight of the next layer up on the support rather than on the layer below. We had the baker heap berries (blackberries, strawberries, & raspberries) on top of each layer. They helped to decorate the cake, but also helped to hide where the supports stuck out of the level. The berries were then served with each slice of cheesecake. For people who didn''t want cheesecake we also had a layer of Italian spice cake with walnuts.

Also, you can''t do fondant with cheesecake because it can''t support the weight of it and because cheesecake smooshes too easily, but that was fine with me because I hate fondant, so we did a really like buttercream frosting.

Everyone is talking about cheesecake as the entire cake layer, but I was under the impression that the OP was talking about a filling between cake layers??

I think a cheesecake flavored filling would be really yummy if it''s something that a baker offers... kind of like cream cheese?

I love cheesecake! Maybe do two smaller cakes rather than one bigger tier.

I thought of a few more options if you can''t find a baker that will do a tiered cheesecake for you:

1. Someone posted a ''rent a cake'' a few days ago I believe. It is a fake cake that looks real, and I believe has an area you can cut into. Then you can have regular cheese cakes in the back that can be cut and served.

2. Have a smaller 2 tier or so cake and have cheesecake in the back to serve.

3. This girl had a cheesecake bar and just a small cake for cutting. http://sarahtraven.googlepages.com/marriedbio

I don''t know if this is feasible or not, but what about having individual cheesecakes, one per table? A coworker of mine did that at her wedding, and she said it worked out really well. You wouldn''t have to worry about the cake holding up if there was only one layer.

i am having red velvet cake with strawberries and cream cheese mousse filling. I am also a cheesecake lover so figured that was a close second! i never thought about an actual cheese CAKE. awesome!

When we get married, we''ll be sharing a little cake just for the two of us...and my four children, but everyone else will be having cupcakes! That being said, ain''t nothin'' wrong with a good cheesecake filling!

That reminds me...time to get cracking on making my oldest son''s birthday cheesecakes. I''m doing individual ones in cupcake papers for him to take to school.

I think I have a way!

I don''t know if this style is to your taste at all, but what I did (because I love cheesecake, too) was contact the baker about doing a non-traditional cake. Meaning, it won''t be "frosted" in any way, not with fondant or anything else. Instead, we are having the bakery fabricate and decorate some white chocolate "walls", and behind the "walls'' will be the cheesecake. They''ll lay some cut-to-fit parchment on top so that I can "fill in the box" with fresh flowers. I''m guessing they''ll pass supports through the layers, and use an underlayment between them as well. The effect will be (fingers crossed) this kind of aesthetic:
