Is 33/41 a good CA/PA? Thanks

Hi,

I know this is hard without additional pictures but I’d appreciate any
help I can get Diamond is 1.2ct E vvs2 triple excellent GIA cut.

I’m hoping to find something with great light performance.

Table 55%
depth 61.7%
crown angle 33%
pavillion angle 41%

The numbers look ok, but ASET images are the best to determine the light return. You can use the HCA tool to help shortlist your diamond. https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca

I think also you need to look out for the impact of the blue fluorescence with such high color and clarity, since it might make it look milky or oily. For this part, the expert PSers are in better position to advise.

HCA score is 0.7

My concern is that with such a shallow CA it may lack fire. I was also concerned about the fluorescence :???: have also read that it will more than likely have no effect on transparency

I may just order it and wait to see it in person. I can always return it I guess
Thanks

I see...if I am not wrong, smaller table (i.e. 52-54%) gives more fire? The depth is within the recommendations.

I also like more firey diamonds too. Maybe you can post a couple of photos/videos once you got it?

I have a 33/41 with SBF and that works perfectly with my stone, but I have a 60/60 stone. My stone gives off lots of fire in certain lighting. If you do a search I think you will find threads discussing 33/41. However, my color is no where near as low as yours. Perhaps get it and see in person? Make sure they have a good return policy. Or ask the vendor if it’s milky or oily? With E and MF it should bring the cost down.

There's no concern with the medium fluorescence in a high clarity stone. It will not be milky or oily.

I'd aim for the HCA to be between 1 and 2 and all excellent except spread as very good. If you want fire, go for a higher crown angle (34.5+) and crown (closer to 15%).

@diamondseeker2006 is crown 16.1% considered too high?

Hi all, it finally came in. Pretty sure I’ll be sending it back. Seems to me like the diamond is off slightly to one side when looking at the ring from the side:confused: F2EAB994-388B-44D8-9614-A86C1F41CDE2.jpeg

The head definitely looks like it was placed on in a manner where the prongs aren't exactly 12 and 6 o'clock - like it's been slightly twisted, which would explain the wayward prong.

I don't think the videos of the diamond look bad, although I don't think any are outside in sunlight.

i get what you mean, could it be due to the setting a bit "off"?

yup, yimmers is correct. If you look at both pictures from the side view you can see the prong facing the camera is off center.
