Awwww, sweetie, thank you so much! I''m so flattered to have my very own Who''s Who thread!
emembarrassed.gif

Miss Linda, I have to admit, I''ve been lurking in your Who''s Who thread lately. I''ve been trying to read the WHOLE DARN THING before I post, and I''m no where near the end yet! LOL!
9.gif

Well, let''s see, where do I start . . . I was born in northern Maryland (near the Mason-Dixon line) on May 31, 1978. I just hit 30 this year, and it HURT!!!!! I can''t be 30 yet!!!
14.gif

My parents divorced when I was three years old, and I lived with my Mom while I was growing up. My Dad has always been very involved in my life though . . . we have a great relationship. (Oh, and my Dad''s whole side of the family is Irish, hence my user name!) When I was about six years old, my Mom married a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad guy. They stayed married for 13 years, so he lived with us the whole time I was growing up. He was very verbally and emotionally abusive to both me and my Mom. I''ve tried to forgive him for the way he treated us, but I just can''t. He''s the only person in the entire world that I hate. I moved out of the house at the age of 20, mainly to get away from him. I moved across the state line into Pennsylvania with my boyfriend at the time. I later married that boyfriend, when we were both 22 and too young to know better. That was a huge mistake. He turned out to be a lot like my Mom''s XH. He was very controlling and abusive, and he had serious anger management issues and drug problems. I divorced him when I was 25. (Best. Decision. Ever.)

Now for the good stuff! LOL! I met DH when we were about 20 years old. Ironically enough, DH went to school with XH, and XH is the one who introduced us! DH had just moved back here to Pennsylvania. (He had been living in Texas for a few years, in the El Paso area.) When DH and I met (at a car wash of all places!) we just kinda clicked. We really hit it off and became friends. We didn''t start "seeing each other" for another five years (when both of our first marriages were circling the drain). After dating for a little over a year, we got engaged on Christmas Eve, 2004. We got married on July 21, 2005. It was a Thursday night, which I know is kinda strange, but we had a good reason: My Grandfather (my Mom''s father) was a wonderful person, and he passed away back in 1993, when I was 15 years old. July 21 was his birthday. He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, and at the time he was diagnosed he just knew that he wouldn''t live to see his 70th birthday. He died on July 20, 1993 . . . the day before his 70th birthday. July 21 was also his and my Grandmother''s anniversary . . . they got married on his birthday! So that date meant a lot to us, and DH and I really wanted to get married on July 21 for that reason. So, DH and I have been married for a little over three years now, and it has been WONDERFUL!!! If I had known what a REAL marriage was supposed to be like, I would have left XH a looooong time before I did. DH is the best guy I''ve ever met, and he is always the high point of my day. Oh, yeah, and he''s HOT!!!

DH and I are the parents to four "children": Red is our horse, and he''s 17 years old. He''s a Canadian Thoroughbred gelding, and he had a long and successful racing career. I''ve been riding since I was just a wee tot, and I''ve ALWAYS dreamed of owning a horse. We got Red two years ago, and he''s the love of my life! We board him at a very nice barn about half an hour from our house, and I ride him about two or three times per week. I spoil him rotten! Our next child is Biko, who is 13 years old and he''s a black lab/pit bull mix. He has NO idea about the pit bull part, though! He''s the sweetest little guy! Turbo is our black lab/Heinz 57 mix. She''s about 9 years old and she''s SUCH a Daddy''s girl! LOL! Caesar is the baby. He''s our Great Dane, and he''ll be 8 years old on December 19. Biko and Turbo were DH''s dogs before we got married and Caesar was mine . . . now they''re all ours!

Oh, and my Mom did finally divorce her lousy second husband. She left him two weeks after I moved out, and divorced him a short time later. YAY, MOM!!! She is now married to a wonderful man who I''m proud to call my Stepdad. He has two sons from a previous marriage . . . one is 22 and the other is 24. They''re the best brothers anyone could ever ask for!
1.gif

Let''s see . . . what else? I''m a certified paralegal and I work for a small law firm with five attorneys. I do mainly litigation, criminal law, family law, and bankruptcy. I''ve been here for a little over nine years now, and most of the time I like my job. LOL! There''s never a dull moment . . . I''m doing something different every day. I also teach horseback riding lessons part-time, and I love it!
9.gif

OK, I guess that''s all I can think of for now . . . anything else you''d like to know?
4.gif

Awwwww! A bunch more of you crazy ladies checked in while I was writing my novel! LOL!

Bree, I must admit, the outer rings of Saturn are highly overrated, so I made the tough decision to omit them from my life story!
15.gif

Dragonfly, I''m late, but I finally made it! LOL!
12.gif

Skip, I''m glad you got a kick out of George! I always do, too!

Fav song on the radio right now?

What''s an interesting quirk(s) about yourself?

Thanks for the popcorn, Dragonfly!

Red and I just kinda putz around. He''s 17 and starting to show his age. I did compete a little bit when I was in high school, but I never loved showing. I like to ride just to ride! I''m a hunter-jumper girl, and the show scene can be a little, um, DIFFERENT (hunters especially)!

Arabs are beautiful critters, and I admire them greatly . . . from afar! LOL! I have known a few Arabs that were just wonderful, and a few others that were completely insane! Of course, "completely insane" is something I''m used to since I own a TB! LOL!
2.gif

OK, I''ve gotta run . . . time to GET OUT OF THE OFFICE for the weekend!!! YAY! But I''ll be back later on to tell the proposal story!
9.gif

Have you ever come over to Ireland? Whereabouts are your dad''s family from?

OK, guys, I''m back as promised!
9.gif

Dragonfly, here''s the proposal story: I knew DH had the ring. He bought it in SEPTEMBER and didn''t give it to me until CHRISTMAS EVE!!! Bad DH, bad DH!!! LOL! We went to our local bar on Christmas Eve for some "holiday cheer." Hee hee! When we got home, I went into the bathroom to change into my PJs and get ready for bed. When I got out, DH was standing there with a Santa hat on! He said, "Come downstairs and sit by the tree with me for a little bit." OK, at this point, I knew what was coming! Also, he was holding my hand as we walked down the stairs, and I could feel that he had the ring on his pinky finger! So, we sat on the couch beside our Christmas tree, and he asked me. I can''t remember what he said exactly, but I don''t think I ever bothered to say "yes" . . . I just tackled him! LOL!
9.gif

Jo, I''m glad I made you laugh at work! LOL! My favorite color is blue. Any color blue will do, but especially light blue. (All of Red''s stuff, like his saddle pad and everything, are some shade of blue! LOL!) My dream car would be a brand new Corvette convertible! My favorite song right now is probably "Stay" by Sugarland. (LOVE them!!!) Hmmmmm, I don''t know about the interesting quirks question . . . I''m pretty boring! LOL!
2.gif

Bee*, I''ve never been to Ireland, but I''d LOVE to visit there someday! That''s something I''ve always dreamed of doing. I''m not exactly sure which part of Ireland my Dad''s family is from, but I think it''s somewhere in the Southwest maybe?

Aw, Maisie, you''re PLENTY clever enough! Believe me, you should be SO glad you don''t live in the US right now! This election is CRAZY and I can''t wait til it''s over!!!
32.gif

I bet it is a bit mad right now! The awful thing is, when we have elections over here I never vote. I am too afraid to pick the wrong person! Those poor suffragettes, tying themselves to the railings and going on hunger strike so women could vote... and for what.. me to be too nervous to use it!

Wow, Maisie, how long ago did women get the right to vote in Great Britain? I''ve heard the same things about what the suffragists here in the US did to win the right to vote. I guess I never thought about the fact that women in other countries did the same things! I always try to make sure I vote in the presidential election, but I''m ashamed to say that I usually don''t vote in any other elections.
15.gif

I think it was in 1928 that women got full voting rights in line with men. Before that there were a few years where they could vote but it was only if they were over age 30 and with a certain value to their property.

Wow, Maisie, that''s interesting that they had to be at least 30 and had to own a certain amount of property.
23.gif

I know! And now they give anyone over the age of 18 the vote and most of us have no idea what to do with it!! We definitely don''t get as involved as the US citizens do.

Yeah, everyone in the US can register to vote as long as they''re at least 18 and not in prison! LOL!
2.gif

I think a lot of young people in the US don''t vote, though. But hopefully that won''t be the case in this election! Obama''s campaign has been working hard to get new voters registered, and I think he appeals to young people much more than McCain does. I have a lot of friends who support Obama and are about my same age, and they all seem very excited to vote this time!
