iPad users - do you have an attachable keyboard?

Love my iPAD, but would love it 10 times more with an attachable keyboard.

Which keyboard have you bought/use? And do you like it?

I currently use the Zagg aluminum keyboard for my work ipad2 -- I really like it, but it can be heavy toting it around and the case gets cold in the winter months.
My fiance uses the swivel case by Targus that has a "hard keyboard", but not detachable.

What are you using it for? Work or play? :twirl:

Thanks Malbec54!

I have the Targus without the keyboard...but now I want just a plain keyboard...

I'll be using it mostly stationery so weight is not that much of a concern - although I will at times want to travel with it, and of course then "heavy" makes it so much less pleasurable.

I use the apple bluetooth keyboard occasionally with my work iPad. Normally I prefer just to type on the screen, but when I work with spreadsheets or have to type anything more than a quick e-mail, the keyboard is easier, IMO. I've been using it off and on for about 6 months and still haven't changed the battery (takes AAs). Just go into settings, turn on bluetooth, and the iPad finds it within a second. To turn off, you do the same, and the keyboard will automatically turn itself off. I carry my iPad like a notebook most of the time, and when I carry the keyboard, I just carry it on top - so I feel like it's pretty compact and portable.

DH uses the Apple wireless keyboard and really likes it.

Bought my husband the Zagg- he loves it.

I was secretly hoping ONE keyboard would come out the clear winner so I wouldn't have to do any thinking!

But thanks a lot - this gives me a starting point - I'll check them out on Amazon and then make my decision.

Right now my top 2 choices are the Apple, and the Logitech. Then the Zagg - because of the weight. But I'll actually have to compare the weights exactly and see if it's really that much heavier.

Thanks, guys!

For what it's worth, I have the apple keyboard, and I used that right up until I got the Logitech Ultrathin.

I've since retired the Apple keyboard. I like to take my iPad with me, and it doesn't make sense to drag 2 pieces around that don't fit together well. The Logitech keyboard also functions as a smart cover (shuts the ipad off when you close them together), so it was multifunctional for me.

We went to Staples today and I noticed a clearance sale on a purple iPad case (I'm a sucker for purple or Tiffany blue...) but turns out the cover that caught my eye, also had a bluetooth keyboard in it!! WHOA - cool! and it would be great for when I travel. I can put the iPad in that and have a keyboard so I can make sense when I type (rather than rely on autocorrect... keyboards are my friend, tapping on an iproduct is NOT!) Haven't tried it yet - needs 4+ hours to charge up for the first time, but it comes with a cable and looks pretty neat.

This is made by ALURATEK so I'm hoping it will work out well. Worst case scenario, I just blew $41!!

well...its a big "IXNAY" to the Aluratek contraption. I think I bought a dud. Charged for 4+ hours, tried to link with the blue tooth - no connection found. Plugged it into the wall to see if it needed direct electrical connection to work.. nope. Ok, going back and I think when I travel, I'll just use DH's wireless apple keyboard and back it up safely.

Hope you find one that you like, CJ!
