Okay, I figured it out! Here is my invite... still have some tweaks here and there but what do you think so far??

(Still have no idea what color will be used with them... thank goodness for my sister b/c she''s probably going to take them over from here. I did my part... she''s the creative one so it''s all on her now! haha)

Next I''ll post my reply card.

Reply Card. Again, still tweaking.

Any recommendations?

ETA: The 26th of May is just a stand in date for RSVP's right now... any advice on what date I should actually use?

I love the cursive fonts you are using! However, I''m not crazy about the font you used for the invites (the all caps font), it doesn''t look quite right with the cursive. I also think the daisy graphic is a little too detailed for as small as it is - it looks a little grainy to me the way it is. Overall you''re off to a great start! These are going to be adorable, I''m so jealous of people who can do all this design stuff.

Thanks Steph. I tried changing all of the font to the script but I can't seem to make it fit... so I tried using another font entirely. I also tried enlarging the flower a bit. I did print out some today just so I could get a feel of how they'd truly look and the flower doesn't look grainy at all. I think it's just that way on the computer. How does this look?

ETA: and I did notice I have a typo in there. sorry about that!

Let's try it again... minus the typo...

ETA: I'm just doing lovely tonight. Didn't mean to post our full names. Oh well!

I think you're off to a good start! I'm not super creative, so I can't help much there, but just a few things on the wording. I think dates are usually written like "Saturday the twenty-sixth of June" on formal invitations rather than the way you have it (I'd google this to make sure I'm correct though).

Also, I'm not sure you need to put the date in numerals towards the bottom of the invitation since you wrote it out above. Something about having the 6.26.10 on there looks off to me (maybe because of the size of the numbers) and it's also kind of redundant. How does the invitation look if you remove that line?

I do like the change to the script font from the block font you had at first on the info part of the invitation. Good luck with the rest of the invitation design!

I actually like it better the first way, but I''m biased because I used the same font for my invites along with some script (I''ll try to add a pic).

Also, if you''d like, you can email the mods and ask them to take the photos down that have your full names on them. I totally understand not wanting your names out in the open like this!!

I prefer it the original way, too -- I think all script is too much and a little hard to read.

Can you try a non-script, sentence case (i.e. not all-caps) typeface and see how that looks?

I think your invites will look great. Good job!

Thanks ladies. I really appreciate the input. I did email the mods so hopefully they''ll take the ones with my LN down.

I did try typing with regular font (not all caps) but it just do it for me. I''m going to work on them more and see how I like it without the 6-26-10 on the bottom. I wanted it there b/c some people I''ve already shown my rough copies to really like the idea. They said it was "easier for older people who can''t read small lettering that well"... it''s an easy reminder to them what date it is. Eh, we''ll see. I''ll mess with it more tonight and post them.

Thanks again!!

I love your fonts!!!

I just wanted to comment that your RSVP card is WAY less confusing than mine, and that''s a great thing.

I put on mine:

2 seats have been reserved in your honour

__ of 2 happily accept with pleasure

___ decline to attend

Some people would put a check for both, some put a number on the first line, and then checked the second...AAHH it was a nightmare. And I hate to say it, but it was the older people who didn''t really understand. Oh well. I had my parents call my old great aunts to ask if they were attending.

ANYWAY, nice job. Everything (after the edits) looks great!

If you aren''t liking the regular text fonts available there are many sites where you can download free fonts. I am personally not a fan of all script. I think it takes away from your names.

You''ve got TONS of time to work on this but its always nice to knock a few things off the list now!

I love them!!!!! Good job! They''re so pretty! I actually like the all caps font because it breaks up the script.

Which fonts do you like best? The ones in the very first picture? Or the other one?

I wanted to make my reply cards as simple as possible. I figured I only needed to put one spot for who will be attending. I can figure out the amount of who won''t be attending from that pretty easily. I''m going for simplicity here and I know too many people would mess it up. haha.

ETA: Oh, I''m guessing you like the second one best then? (b/c you said after all the edits) .... silly me.

I have tons and tons of different fonts on my computer. I love the first ones I used. And I, too, am not a fan of all script either.

Of the two, which would be the one you like best?

I definitely wanted to start this super early b/c I know I''ll be changing my mind all the way up to the very last minute! haha

Thank you very much! I like all the caps as well b/c I felt all script was way too much... and maybe too fancy for me. I'm not a fancy person.

i like the second version of the invitation better, all the fonts on the first one made it seem a bit cluttered

i agree with lanie, i did a very similar rsvp to her and people would put checks instead of a number, i think yours will be far less confusing

I really like the cursive names with the block lettering look. It looks very modern yet traditional and it''s really big right now. We did our ceremony programs and our invitations in this style. One thing that can make the block lettering really pop is to make the first letter of every word a little bit bigger than the other letters. So, all caps, but first letter 10 pt and second letter 8 pt. Just a warning though--this can be a pain!

I think the block lettering you have is a weird font--has an Old West look to it maybe?
We used Bookman Old Style (with English as the cursive font) and it was a very nice look. These are either standard fonts on Office or available on dafont.com for free.
