Hi everyone! So I''ve been a long-time lurker (maybe since February) of Pricescope and the information I learned on this site has been invaluable! Thanks everyone! So my boyfriend and I have been shopping around for an engagement ring since December. But back then it was more of just looking to see what I liked, so I guess I was more of a lady in waiting. It''s been so hard since every time I saw something at the B&M store I would fall in love with and hope my bf would get it for me, but alas...no. However, I am very glad that he hasn''t gotten anything for me because it led me to this website and the beginnings of my diamond obsession!
I originally started out wanting a radiant because I liked the elongated shape and since I thought my fingers were chubby, it would make my finger look longer. At the same time I fell in love with a Tacori setting that I thought I just had to have. It''s this for anyone who is curious: Tacori Setting
Well my bf hated it because it''s two-toned, but it looks so much better in person! Then for some reason I started falling in love with cushions. I think it''s because I love the way its corners are curved and it''s just very cushy looking! Anyway, if I was to get that setting, I could have only afforded a 1 carat cushion at a B&M store and it seemed like no one carried them. I always had to call ahead to have them bring it in for me to look at. Plus, since my bf hated the setting, he tried to bribe me with a bigger diamond instead! Long story short, I''ve been scouring the pages of Pricescope to learn as much about cushions as possible and to look for inspirations in settings.
So recently my bf gave me the thumbs up to start looking for the diamond. From everything I''ve learned, I''ve decided to go with Mark at ERD for getting my cushion. And since I wanted everything to come from the same vendor, I decided to also get the setting through him, and I fell in love with the Sophia setting when I saw Papillon''s ring! her Ring
Mark has been great to work with. I contacted him on 3/12 and he called me back on 3/14 letting me know he was going to start the search. I initially started with giving him a really hard task of finding a 1.7 carat cushion brilliant at a limited budget and I don''t think he was happy with that since he couldn''t really find me anything good enough. So I decided to go down to 1.5 carats and he had found me something yesterday, but when he got the diamond in, he changed his mind and thought the diamond wasn''t good enough. I know I can totally trust his judgment! And today, he called me back and said he found me a beautiful diamond and so now I''m just waiting on the picture that he''s going to send me tomorrow. But first I wanted to get everyone''s opinion just based on the cert. Mark says it''s totally eye-clean and you can''t even see the cutlet. Here''s the link for the cert...I didn''t know how to make the file small enough.
