Internet vendors settings

I know that most of the diamond prices found online at reputable vendors are pretty close to their lowest price (there is little bargaining room), but is it different with settings? Is it common to try and get a much better price on a setting from the vendors? Alot of them seem marked way up, to me.

The settings I have looked at from online vendors are comparable prices to those in jewelry stores. The reason to get a setting from an online vendor is if you can get the stone and ring from the same place, it is easier, and if you can''t find a setting you want locally. There is usually not a big price advantage to buying a setting online over local. But many of us couldn''t find what we wanted locally and chose to go with a setting found over the internet.
