How much is the internet like alcohol?

And how much is Leonid like our bartender? Or like the guy behind 7-11, who is able to sell spirits?

After all, as is recommended by the AMA, a glass of wine a day probably improves your health. Also, generally, liquor loosens you up, and can add to ones sociability.

Makes you feel good about advocating sales of liquor, until a wino shows up at your door. How much discretion and attention to the use of your service do you want to be sensitive to?

Today, in the Washington Post''s Health section, the most reasoned comment about internet use went to the encouragement that rational decision-making be brought to bear, when considering how the user spends their time. Then again, that''s true generally with alcohol, too.

See here, though they may ask you to sign up to read the post. I think it''s free to sign up.

Regards,

If Pricescope is like alcohol, then I need to check into the cyberspace equivalent of Betty Ford!!!

OK Ira, lets make a list why PS is better than alcohol. I''ll start

1. It''s not fattening.

Not entirely true...look where you and several others were into the wee hours last night, looking after a "winternight," and whether you should ask your fiance to spend more, or not...

Also, Robbie, though you say...

"No matter how much you use in one sitting, it won''t kill you."

....maybe so...but did you read the article?

Leonid...another advantage...it costs less. But wait...is that a good thing, or a bad thing?

Yup, I read the article and I agree that it is an addiction. I know that I personally have a problem and I've actually been trying to work on it lately, but I'm very glad that I'm addicted to the internet as opposed to alcohol. I'll take carpal (spelling?) tunnel syndrome over damaging my liver any day.
