It depends on the extent of the internal graining. Here is a picture of internal graining as seen at an extreme level of magnification, the graining actually spirals around within the table facet of the diamond, but is most visible in this one particular vein. The graining was not visible until we blew the diamond up to the size of a soccer ball, so it would never be seen by anybody just using their eyes or even a 10x standard diamond grading loupe. More importantly, what are the crown angle and pavilion angle measurements for the two diamonds that you referenced?

thanks for the pic. unfortunately i don't have the crown angle and pavilion (just the GIA report they list on the site). it sounds like the graining isn't a big problem if it's hard to see 10x.

Ask the seller to provide you with a full page version of the Sarin or OGI computerized proportions analysis so that you can determine the proportions rating of the diamonds you are considering. In terms of price, the proportions of a diamond can result in a price discrepancy of up to 60%! The technology is commonplace in today's market, you should expect it.
