I''m not sure what forum to post my question in, so I chose this one...

I live in Orange County, California and I''m looking for a stand alone insurance policy for my engagement ring from Chubb. All the agents I called said they do not do stand alone, except one, but her rate was 3% a year.

I was wondering if anyone has found an insurer that has a better rate.
Also, do I have to choose an insurer in may area?

You might want to get a "rider" policy on your homeowners insurance. Look at Jewelers Mutual or you might be able to get an insurance policy stand alone from other insurance companies (state farm, AAA, Etc)

You want to be careful about how you insure it too, make suer you are looking at retail value vs appraised values for your pieces.
