Can anyone share with me the approximate insurance premium one has to pay for insuring an engagement ring, assuming that one has a clean history?

How is the premium quoted? Is it quoted per $1000?

It will vary somewhat depending on the specific terms of your policy, the company chosen, the amount of the deductible, the risk profile of your neighborhood and other variables. It will also vary from state to state and from country to country. Normally US homeowners policies charge somewhere between 1% - 4% of the appraised value per year.
